Good article this

This bit sums it all up perfectly

In the two and a half years since the Spaniard’s – arriving just months after vacating arguably the biggest footballing seat on the planet – he has guided a motley crew of relegated misfits to the and returned the club to the top 10 of the Premier League all the while turning a £19m profit in the transfer window.
How the fuck did Rafa turn a £19m profit?

Sure it was a different manager who signed wijnaldum and Sissoko and I very much doubt Rafa had anything to do with the price you got for them.

Erm because the players he sold and then bought meant a profit of £19 million?

Since when has the standard response to banter been ‘reminds me of the time Burton relegated Sunderland to league one’?

Firstly, a season is played over 38 or so games. Secondly, if we were to admit it was decided over one game, then it reminds me of the time Newcastlepteam were relegated by Sunderland to the championship

Gone full Moyes. Mind wanting £20 million for Mitrovic

I’m sure the players that are there will be delighted to learn their manager holds them in such high esteem. Jaffa the motivator, such man management skills are hard to come by these days. Is there no end to this mans talents ?
I wonder who will be next to go under the bus to cover his fat arse.

I though this was accepted as fact on here anyway? If you’re saying that then Burton did infact relegate you tbf.

Their love for him has completely blinded them to the cold hard truth.

I’ve said for ages on here that he’s a footballing charlatan, and I remember a few people digging me out for it, but the man’s selling wolf tickets and they’ve bought them all. What’s he done to receive such praise? Chris Hughton did the same job with less money and is no where near held in the same regard.

Ok then they did. Work rather be relegated by them than Newcastle.

Odd seeing as on here it was a form of derision summer 2016 that we’d even be stepping onto the same pitch as them in a league game. ‘Enjoy Burton’ iirc.

How times have changed.

Spent more than us last summer and finished below us last season. Apart from that it’s the same

Players he sold? They were going regardless man, you couldn’t sustain their wages in the Championship. Why is this so difficult to understand? He had nothing to do with selling them, he spent the money off their transfers and that’s it.

Was he the manager when they were sold? A simple yes or no will suffice.

What he says to the press and to his players are two completely different things, and I'm sure his squad are intelligent enough to realise this.
There is an excellent team spirit at the club, and it's one of the reasons we have overachieved with the players we have. You'd have to be a bit of a bitter fool to say otherwise.

Very true, but it doesn’t mean I can’t use it as a stick to beat him with.
As a footnote, how smart do you think modern footballers are ?
