MP takes on Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley over his 'exploitation' of the club

not sure how this reflects badly on the mags? isnt the issue the MP and her party?

If she was serious she could try and bring about real change across football ownership. Ashley wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of that list. I wouldn’t be against something like forcing supporter representation on boards or even a share of ownership.

She's right to the extent that clubs need protections from unscrupulous owners - the fit and proper persons test is a start but not enough. The problem is, as you rightly say, that Mike Ashley is very far from being irresponsible or unscrupulous in his management of Newcastle.

As much as MPs are for f***ing up,this great country

Mind least we can vote MPs out

Why do they believe they are a special case ? I think the media haven’t helped, take Sky for example I have heard the likes of Jeff Stelling come out with stuff like ‘they love a good striker in Newcastle who can put the ball in the back of the net’. Surely every football fan across the word wishes their club had that ? The sense of entitlement espoused on that Bailey tweet is bewildering..... as though they are somehow special and deserve this, deserve that. They love a good striker, they love their football, they deserve better etc. etc.

So a local MP is going to lobby him to spend 10's of millions of his own, personal money? Fucks sake i hope i don't get a knock on the door off Juliet Elliot ordering me to invest my life savings into an already sustainable private company with a gurantee that I'll never see it again.

They are off thier collective tits
It won’t be long until a London club expects the tax payers to pay for a new stadium....

Silly cow  Pandering to the reverend wraith  they are absolutely up their own arses up there like  It's getting beyond parody now

Altogether now

I’m no lover of Graeme Bailey but this thread is intersting. They just don’t see that they are no different to 1000’s of other fans

Some class comments on there. Especially the ones crying about how hard done to they are and how the club is being run into the ground ten in the next sentence boasting they are the only NE team in the prem

Newcastle are bordering on Liverpool levels of spiritual sensitive masturbating about their special club.

It's even worse because at least Liverpool are like that because of their fantastic history, former glories and tragedies.

The Mags have an inflated sense of what their football club is . A special breed, i've never seen anything like it. So Mike Ashley has used NUFC to further Sports Direct as a brand? And what? Commercialism is part of football.

Going on like he's personally raped their club or murdered Alan Shearer or something

As for Rafa, he took the Newcastle job on knowing the structure. Suddenly he's their latest scorned messiah #IFRAFAGOESWEGO Go where?

I saw someone the other day post something along the lines of ‘Ashley is temporary but we are permanent. We were here long before Ashley came, and will be here long after he goes. #ifrafagoeswego’

Slightly contradictory.

I swear blind there’s something in the water up there that turns otherwise normal people into utter chuckies.
It’s like a disease. Stay to long there and you’re doomed.
