Rumoured to be in the test squad next week

Undecided on this, I think at home against the Aussies or Saffers he could do damage, not sure about against India or Pakistan

Not sure he is mentally tough enough, would be another interesting selection like

Kind of wish they'd just let him focus on the ODI stuff, he has defs got better since he gave up red ball

I'd be pissed of if I was Yorkshire like considering he's meant to be focusing on one day cricket
 
Apparently he's said on his twitter he wants to be considered for the series so I guess it will happen. I always got the impression Cook had no confidence in him which can't help him settle into his role/the team. If he can bowl a few more deliveries like the one that got Kohli I can't wait to see him.

I'd tell him to go play some county cricket first
 
Absolute joke. Should be told to go and play against Lancs on Sunday then against Worcester mid August and take some wickets. Then and only then should he be considered for the last two Tests. Sends a poor message on the county game. I was in the "benefit of the doubt" "at least he's an asset in the white ball stuff" camp but not so sure now. Leaning towards the fuck off out of the club camp tbh.

If his Yorkshire contract doesn't allow for a couple of red ball games I wouldn't be against him playing for someone else in the CC to prove himself.

I think your spot on its a different argument but same happened with buttler being recalled mind.
 
He’s our best spinner IMO (it’s not difficult though) but it’s a bit shit on those who have been playing red ball cricket hoping for a call up, only to see someone who hasn’t bowled a red ball in god knows how long get a call up based upon his white ball form.

But I suppose the same happened with Buttler and that’s been a success thus far.

He's a very good spinner not sure it's true to say he's our best. Maybe in T20 (or 50 over) he is but for some reason leggies seem to be doing very well in that format, not just rashid.
 
He cleaned bowled the number one batsman of our next opponents

It makes sense to have him around the squad. I'll be amazed if he plays though. We disillusioned him enough once before in the windies a few years back.

I think its a good thing. Pitches are dry as owt but we just don't have good enough spin bowlers to exploit it. I do accept your point about focusing on the ODI stuff and it is world cup year but personally i'm a test match first man!

The message to tell them is to up their f***ing game. Spin will be huge in the coming test series on those pitches and we don't have anyone that is better to get good batsmen out than Rashid. The argument people were making against Buttler was nonsense and people are making the same mistakes again.
 
Rashid bowled a ball that was similar to warnes to gatting.

Kohli had not been dismissed in such a manner.

That is the simple to understand reason why they may then look to bring him back to the red ball game

As it stands I can't see any reason to drop Bess from our last test match side.

Though I could see a place for Rashid at the games in London but not in the first test
 
The lad has been dicked around by captains ecb etc. Ffs he hasn't even played a test match at home.

Can anyone blame him for being selfish for looking after himself by making himself a white ball specialist.

Now we are begging him to play and he says okay.

Why the fuck are we giving him shit?

Unless all you distracters also had a go at Buttler and Hales for doing the same. Youse are being racist

Same was said about Buttler and he’s done very well since his return. Play your best players it’s that simple.

Best or Rashid.....it’s a no brainier for me
