Are you talking about the whole game or certain phases? He took his penalties well but what else did he do really well in that game? What did he do really well v Sweden? What did he do really well tonight?

Not sure what youre on about. We were the youngest squad at the world cup and have just lost a semi final. Our centre forward and captain is going to win the golden boot and we have united the country again. What 2 games bollocks are you prattling on about.
 
Great up until last two matches and superb penalties and set plays, but not being played in at all from open play.

His all round game against Colombia was excellent. He was a target up front, held it up, played it off, drew fouls. He was a perfect centre forward mind.

He was shite tonight aye, but let's not re-write history.

Fuck off trying to berate him man. Don’t berate any of them. They’ve surpassed alll expectations, they got the country going and excited. Why try to make him a scapegoat. Be proud man, we have no right to win the World Cup. f***ing idiots.

He was neither nowt nor something. But I never said he was.

He was brilliant against Tunisia, Panama and Colombia. Average against Sweden. Shite against Croatia.

He's going to win the World Cup golden boot, to go with numerous PL ones.

I don't think anyone is making him a scapegoat, as such. If so, there are threads on here doing the same for every starter tonight except Pickford, Henderson, Trippier and Maguire. There is just a slight disappointment that he hasn't been all that effective in the last two games.

Aye, said he was a good player above. He just didnt show that the last few games unfortumately. Sterling did more the last couple

He had a 'mare today. All he had to do was square it for an easy tap in and that would have been it.

He can take a good penalty but in open play he's been poor. Likewise his sidekick Ali

I just think we’ve got a bit of an identity. Fair enough, we’ve been better on set plays than in open play, but we have something to build on here. We can hold our heads high. The last time we were in a semi, Croatia weren’t even a country and those people were being bombed. Maybe it’s their time. Fair play. More positives than negatives. I’m quite proud to be English right now. It’s not life or death. It’s a game, a game we’re getting better at.
