How will he do that? The playing budget is capped for next year at least.

I guess Colly will retire, but we'll need another captain and pay accordingly, perhaps not so much given Colly's experience/reputation and overall worth.

I'm not sure there are any others in the academy/seconds ready to step up at present.

Maybe we'd have a few pennies to tempt Salisbury for next year.

When Colly goes, and sadly it looks like now, we can afford to pay 3 good Div 2 players to replace him. It might work. Starting with Salisbury.

I'm guessing Colly is on 200k.

worrying quote there though you kind of have to wonder who exactly it is interesting other teams that we have left

Can't think of many, Rushy won't go, not many others who would interest Div 1 sides. A strange statement.

Josh Coughlin will be one. Harte also.
Josh Coughlin looks very much a work in progress … maybe in 3 or so years time if he continues to progress. To my mind wouldn't get near the team at present if it wasn't for injuries.

Our better bowlers are injured: Potts, Weighell, Carse plus Mark Wood. Why wouldn't they be bigger targets if any are?

Yeah I’m not sure I see who we have that would hugely interest ‘bigger’ counties at present.

Lot of raw but inconsistent young’ens and a few possibly over the hill old heads....... Only really Stokes and Wood but for what we see of them, would they be huge losses?

Wood could easily go.

If he isn't given a central contract Durham could have another Harmison on their hands. They might want to keep him but what would be the sudden and added cost to a cash strapped club?

I think Wood and Harmison are also alike in that both would want to stay.
