That Scott Wilson is an absolute arsehole. Commented earlier in the season about low crowds in the county championship, and proceeded to print a photo of an empty stand............... which was closed for health and safety. Utter clown

I’m not an expert on the print media - nor much else for that matter - but I’m pretty sure reporters don’t control the pictures or headlines that accompany their articles
TW was a freelance who supplied copy to N.Echo and other nationals.He retired ,N.Echo dispensed with his services or v.v. Only reports on Durham are on ESPN.
Probably do when they're 'Chief Sports Writer' though.
I knew he was freelance - usually the Echo and Cricinfo reports were identical cause both used his material.
It seems he's doing nowt now though - so has he retired?

For the Derbyshire game it was the adopted home of The Trapdoor Exiles although for the last two days we had to endure the presence of the fearsome
Deckchair Casuals and their leader,the infamous 'Magistrate' with their tales of how they took the Members Balcony armed only with four buttered cheese scones, a tartan thermos flask and a 2018 Playfair converted into a 'Millwall Brick'.

Sadly ive missed this game through being over Herrington Saturday for thr 80s thing, being far too hungover Sunday then working this week but thank you, your match report went some way to alleviating my sorrow at missing out
So are we saying after sitting empty, derelict and festering since the "incident" they've somehow fixed it in the space of a few weeks and its now ready for the odi?!

There was a bloke at the Warwickshire game who said there had been some company working on it all the previous week and at the Derbyshire game there's been a couple of officials in there each morning at 10am pottering about...judging by the size of one of them perhaps they were testing the reinforced structure.
There was an article a few years ago in Private Eye when some Daily Torygraph journalist informed them that instead of sending reporters to each of the county grounds they merely got the stuff from Cricinfo.
