Been to only one England game, not for me.

England v Albania at St James in 2001 I think.
Couple of Mackums sitting next to us, they were dressed like extras from Green Street but we’re alright, they weren’t embarrassed to say they were mackums and were nice respectable lads as oppose to trying to give it the big one.
Strangely though when the Albanian national anthem commenced they turned into this Billy Britain characterture and started booing the highly inoffensive nations anthem. I presume they thought that was what ‘lads’ did at England games. They quickly got told to shut up and stop embarrassing themselves. They duly did and all was fine.

Beat that story !

Went to the Australia game at the SOL. There were a few of them jumping around acting like bellends singing about RAAAFFAAAAA. Made me feel dirty going in the same turnstile as them and having them in my stadium.

Went to a game with mags in the early 80's at wembley but it was before the jawdee nayshun had kicked in fully so was fine, although for some weird reason they were all supporting Scotland! (closer iirc)

Not too long after that mate aye. Remember being being in that square off las ramblas and they all come in and, like you say, the atmosphere changed.
I was staying about 100m from the square on the rambles. I was over the moon when I found out the match was there until I found out my flight home was just before kick off :D. Didn't look like I missed much.

Usually no problem at all. Leeds, Forest and Leicester are the fans who seem to be troublemakers at England games these days.
I dont understand why but Newcastle fans are nearly always the only ones you see wearing club colours at England away games.

I saw plenty like. The no club shirts thing is for old blokes stuck in the past.

Tournaments are different though as they attract people who don't usually care about England a lot of the time, especially France where it's easy to get to. Go to a normal England away game with proper fans and they don't see it.

Only time I've ever seen clubs shirts was in Berlin and it was Leicester when they were top of the league, seen a couple that trip actually.

I cheered Gazza and Shearer to the rafters during Euro 96. Didn't give a fuck that they were mags.

I remember the mags constantly booing Martin Smith when he was playing for England U21's at St James'..when England played Belgium at the SOL in 1999 two mags, Alan Shearer and Keiron Dyer both played that day and there was no booing..well apart from me..i constantly swore and made offensive hand gestures towards them the whole game. (joking)
