Only James Taylor was in the last five years pal. In that time, how many women? Was it on the back of their talent and experience? Or to fill a quota?

Honest answer?

It's to vary it up a bit, I've no problem with that. It might even encourage some more viewers, and that can't be bad.

And the lasses they've picked are either experienced journalists or international players, it's not like they've called up my missus.

I don't think it's as simple as a quota. Isha and the others have all played at the top level of the women's game, sky showing more female matches and content, which leads to more commentators being needed and covering all formats women's and men's.

A podcast which talks only about Asian cricket, on British radio. Getting the British Asian community into cricket is admirable, but what percentage of the population are British Asian?

At the same time, what are the BBC doing about White British participation?

Doesn't make sense to me like.
A post filled with sense and logic that some will be recoiling in horror at!

You could say the threads on BBC sport cricket providing commentary at local level county cricket, in all formats covers the white British participation question.

Yeah, but as Mr Jardine noted, international women's cricket is a f***ing awful standard. England Women wouldn't beat a single team in the NEPL because they aren't even club cricket class - so I find it incredibly annoying and patronising listening to some ex-woman international trying to tell me about 90mph bowling.

Guha yesterday at Tea on the pitch with Gower and Hussain was just massively out of her depth. You could tell the shit she was saying was just regurgitated from what someone else had said earlier.

There's enough variation in listening to the legends of the game from various countries. I'd far rather be listening to some Pakistani great, than a former England Women's team player.

The talk in on TMS yesterday with Waqar was absolutely riveting, that's the sort of variation TMS is famous for and the reason why I love it so much. If I want to listen to a village Cricketer, I'll go to my local cricket club.

No comment on my point about white British content on the BBC?

No, it covers ALL potential British participants.

This Doosra programme intends to only talk about Asian issues. Now tell me, how is that inclusive?

Give me chance FFS. ^^^^^^^^^^^

Some of the master classes on sky with likes of Wasim have been fantastic viewing.
You just watch soon they’ll have that Carol Connor in the sky zone letting us all know the virtues of a good forward defensive. Box ticked.
BBC even have that freak show Eddy Izzard parading around in a frock on SPOTY these days, what the fuck has he got to do with sport! Hard to tell who was Eddy and who was Clare balding

 .It's targeted specifically at the Asian market clearly, however the amount targeted at both the white and Asian market in the BBC is definitely inclusive for all.

So to summarise, the Asian target is around 1% and the rest is targeted at white British audience, but also inclusive for Asian, European, and so on.

Not sure what you're getting at. The BBC has one REGULAR cricket podcast, targeted at the South Asian 'market'.

Explain how that is inclusive please. No Johnson'esque smilies this time though.

My point is this. There is a huge amount of content on the BBC cricket site, TMS and so on, which can be shown as aimed at the white British market.

This new podcast is aimed at the Asian community, who rightly or wrongly don't feel inclusive with the above content.

However once this is on, it will encourage, hopefully, more of the Asian community to feel more comfortable to take the vast majority of content the BBC produces.

Therefore it will only increase the amount of people of any community to got to games, at all levels and with a bit of luck produce a few more moderns, Rashid, Monty and so on.

I think that's pretty clear, what I'm on about?

No, as mentioned previously, those things are aimed at ALL. Those things don't discriminate in any way, shape or form.
In your opinion they are. But my point is about the Asian community, which the podcast is aimed at, which will then lead to them becoming more involved with the rest.

Originally you asked what is produced just for the white community.

I gave you the example of all the BBC output at county level, which is clearly aimed at the British white community.

I've have my view, you disagree, but I don't know how what I have said can be misconstrued and imo is very clear to see where I'm coming from.

I'm leaving it at that

One last thing, you quoted one section but my point is made within the whole post.

The first opinion is based on what the rest of the post said

Are British Asians not allowed to like county cricket like?

You're missing the point - the BBC's cricket coverage is totally an wholly inclusive, this podcast however is not.

I'm not missing the point.

My point is that though in your opinion the BBC content is inclusive of the Asian community, from the community itself, it's not and is why the podcast is being produced, to change that opinion and convince them it is all inclusive

Clear and easy to see where I'm coming from

That's what I've said everytime, I've posted.

I suppose you could only truly answer that if you are a British Asian.

What makes it ‘not all inclusive’?

ironic given the outrage here is about women being on radio and television

Wouldn't be any outrage if it was a level playing field. Interestingly, what we're told these sort of 'inclusion' groups want is a level playing field - yet when there's an imbalance in their favour, they go strangely quiet.
