Filling the stadium...

The problem is; a good few fans decided to ditch season cards over the last year and use Short as an excuse. Things have now changed hugely, and they are looking for a new angle not to go.

I don't give a shiney one if they want to go or not, they don't need an excuse.

I just don't understand why they endlessly traipse on here to explain why.

It's absolutely hilarious and quite contradictory ...... they come on to explain why, then say they don't need to explain themselves to people

Just don't go lads, just don't go .... who cares man, I enjoy going whether you're at the match or the colour matching paint section of Homebase.

A small minority will return. Some simply do not care who is in charge they won't go as there is no Premier league football on show.
Now is the time to set fans up on a 5 year guaranteed season ticket price

I think i'd probably just not go and not continually mention it to people I don't know tbh. But each to their own.

I love how the 'default assumption' of the only other thing people can possibly be doing on Saturday afternoon is shopping, DIY ...... or shopping in DIY stores !!

Not having a go mate, but I think that is another reason so many people don't go these days as there 'is' actually a lot more choice of things to do instead of the match these days ?

But ultimately, I agree with most in that if we start winning, people will drift back

Haven't been since November despite having a ST, said i wouldn't go back until Short goes, cancelled my direct debit, will be sorting out mine and my son's season tickets next week for the upcoming season. Honestly buzzing for it now.

It's a bit of an amusing conundrum isn't it mate?

People will say that, now the football's crap, they're choosing to spend quality time with their family.

They don't seem to spot the fact that means they were choosing to ignore their family when the football was better

I don't think any lass has ever asked their husband (or the other way round for you feminists out there) who they are playing on Sat before complaining or giving the ok ever in the history of time.

ManU is fine but Shrewsbury no ye stopping in.

good point - 'quality time with the family' always seems so much more fun when the footy is crap !!

Main reason people have stopped going is we are not in the premier league.

That’s not true. We’ve only won a handful of home games in the past few years. Apart from a few months under BFS it’s been absolutely shite going to the Sol.

If we push for promotion we’ll get decent numbers back thru the gates in any league.

Look up the road, their average attendance was higher in the championship, than the previous season.

By offering large discounts and refunds to those who’ve already paid. How many do you think we’d sell at say £200 and if was cost neutral to the new owners would it not be a great way to kickstart the new regime.
I think the stadium will fill a lot quicker than it emptied now the owners look interested and if we can win a few games.

Out of the lads I know that don’t go, the vast majority are under the thumb mind mate. Whilst I agree, there are plenty of other things to do on a Saturday afternoon, a lot just follow the DIY/Shopping route for an easy life.

I know a few that trot out the “Saturday is family time” line when asked if they want to go to the match. Now, tbf, that is great if it was true - but it’s total bollocks. The sad reality is; they disappear upstairs at 2pm to watch a stream, and then reappear to make tea at 5.15. Simply by being in the house it stops an argument

In what respect?

As a life long fan with 30 years home and away support but currently a non-season card holder who likes to come onto a SAFC forum and be critical of a failed regime then offer suggestions for the new regime to get off to a flying start....wow, that’s me well and truly sussed.

Anyway it’s nice to see that you’ve mended your previously “broken” status. Always look forward to seeing your posts on here ;)
Are you a life long fan with 30 years home and away support? Just you never mentioned it before
