I understand that income has dropped but do they actually need less people to do the work required in running a football club or are we just cost cutting regardless of the impact it has on delivering services.
I think our staff numbers are high even compared to premier league clubs. I agree though just cutting posts isn’t the answer we need to assess the impact.

Very insular people.

The sort that wouldn’t go to Newcastle shopping of go on holiday because it’s from Newcastle Airport.
Strange one that. I suppose, because I've never lived in Sunderland and grew up in North Tyneside I don't have that feeling. Don't get me wrong, the mags, their kit and that God-awful run out music (that I'm going to have to witness on Saturday) make me want to vomit, but Newcastle itself is my adopted home town (or is that "toon"?)

Well I’m North of the Tyne too. I just find it small minded in that sense, you’re happy to see someone lose their job as they’re a Mag and shouldn’t be employed by Sunderland.

If it was my profession and I was offered a job by NUFC that paid well enough I’d do it if the circumstances were right. Would hardly change my support of the lads but you’ve got a job to do.

Exactly, if there was a job to be done by an individual in the Championship or even the Premier League how come we don't need them in League One?

Same. I used to work with a lady who was a friend or neighbour of Chris Lumsdon's Dad. When Sunderland offered him terms (as did Newcastle at the same time) his Dad insisted, despite his own B&W allegiances that Chris signed for Sundeland as their education programme was (at the time) far superior.
My own lad plays for North Shields u10s and if he got picked up by Newcastle, I wouldn't blink an eyelid.....that said, I might end up like Sol Campbell's brother if he played for them in the derby.... :)

Terry McDermotts son Neale has been made redundant at Sunderland, why does a pure Black & Whiter get a job there in the first place is beyond me.

I'm sure his Da can sort out a slot at the Wongadome

I find the fact that people are pleased someone has lost their job because they are a mag pathetic. Some of the best people who have and do work at Sunderland are mags, Bob Stokoe, Peter Walker ex FD and CEO (top bloke and if he had stayed instead of Margaret Byrne, a Sunderland fan, we might not be in this shit) and a couple of other, one of which worked for me when I was there and still does and has contributed massively to the club. If people are good at their job and are willing to commit and contribute to progressing my club I don't give a shit who they support.

You don't need 300+ staff at a league 1 club. They'll be doing it to cost cut and because we have too many staff. I'm interested in how they know who to cut though and who not to. They must be listening to someone with regards to who supposedly isn't pulling their weight
