Filling the stadium...

I am not sure about having spend an hour or so painting up the stadium before each game. Will we have to supply our own overalls and brushes and why can't they get all of our current players who are on community service orders to do it?

Would this entice you sweetie? Would you also require nappy changing services on a regular basis?

Fookin right ya mad fooker.

Doesn’t need to happen. The tickets are already reasonably priced.

Make a statement by using the transfer budget well, bring in a manager that can introduce a style of play, win a few games. They’ll come back.

As I said though if it’s cost neutral and for one season only surely an almost full stadium is a far better environment than one with 20k rattling around in it. In my opinion that was one of the reasons we did do poorly last season....the atmosphere was shit.

It's not really bullshit when about 15k people stopped going the exact season after we got relegated. Just cos you aren't one of them doesn't make it untrue. ;)
But it is untrue, the lad said it was the main reason, it's not, it may be one of the reasons, no doubt about that, I chucked my ST before O'Neil's second season.
I stated it many times on here, the football was shit and after sitting in the stadium bored to death, I thought enough was enough, I did attend a few games, while PDC, Poyet was at the helm and started to get a taste for it again, but what happened after that, put the final nail in the coffin, lots of lads my age have just had a gut full, we've seen every relegation and with the exception of one cup win and two 7th place finishes, it's been utter turd, 60 f***ing years of utter turd, most of it spent in the lower divisions, but! If people want to think it'sbecause we're no longer in the Prem, then lat them think that, it make no difference does it.

If the entertainment goes up so will the crowds. I do wonder why the club don't offer the monthly DD like Burnely do though. That would probably get a bigger reception to the 100 bar like it is currently .

Taking away the away fans allotted allocation up the top, as well as the closure of the home section of the concourse, does anyone know what our actual total saleable seats are? The total of just the lower bowl? ~35k at a max guess i'd say, which there is no reason why that is not achievable if we get a decent manager in, some decent signings and hit the ground running.

Take over a business, one with outgoings more than incomings. Contact your customers and give them a couple of hundred quid back :lol:

It gets dafter on here every day.

I take it you don’t understand what “cost neutral” means my friend.

If you purchased faulty goods at a shop, you could get a refund or a replacement. Unfortunately in football there is no refund for two seasons ( at least ) for faulty goods. As Chris Coleman had said ( many times ) it is what it is.

Most people chucked in going the exact same season after we got relegated. Are you saying that was a coincidence Teed lad? You were in the tiny minority in doing the bit in bold.

Sadly it looks as though a decent chunk of our support are customers who come to watch the f***ing PL games. Not even sure you could tempt that type of punter in with free season tickets in L1.
The fans who turn out next season, regardless of league position are the true hardcore support, I reckon 25 - 30k if we are top 6 all season.

By offering large discounts and refunds to those who’ve already paid. How many do you think we’d sell at say £200 and if was cost neutral to the new owners would it not be a great way to kickstart the new regime.

Absolutely no way we will fill the stadium again until were challenging to get back into the premier league.

As has been pointed out though many times on here we have the worst win record over the last 10 years of any club in the whole football league and our support has stood up remarkably during that time. Imo the last two seasons have been the straw that broke the camel’s back and we need to accept that a lot of supporters just got sick of the misery. We need to be proactive in getting them back before they get used to not going and if the new owners can fill the stadium at no extra cost they should do it.

Disagree mate...with the PC closed I’d say there’s every chance.

I think if all goes well and we are on the front foot again on the pitch and off it then I cant see why we cant attain 30k

I would say that the 17,000 that turned out for the last games the season just gone, are the real core supporters. Knowing we were relegated.

If I didn't want to go to something, making it cheaper or free isn't going to make me go and waste my time all of a sudden. Why go to something you don't want to go to just because it's cheaper?
