I'm sure it'll be looked at. There's also spray paint that permanently fuses with plastic available too. Would only need to spray the back rest and underside of seat for a clean look whilst flipped up.

It can definitely be spun both ways, Newcastle fans would have a slight point to say 'why is the club not just paying for it' but then the club is clearly in a financial shitpot and so this sort of thing is a nice way of showing both the club and fans can come together and there are a decent amount who would be pretty proud of doing their little bit in the history of the stadium and making a section nice and shiny.

Not sure its about whether the club is in a financial shit pot or not, every season at the McCain Stadium the fans had a day when they came down and painted, cleaned and got the ground ready for the coming season, it was class. Life long friendships were built and the community feel to the club that meant when it went bankrupt it was reformed and is making its way back up the pyramid.

One of the downsides of the Premier league is surely that clubs have become huge corporate entities and fans have forgotten what actually being part of a football club is all about. Lets be honest for the last owner we werent even worthy of been spoken to for the best part of 10 years.

Exactly, I will enjoy painting the concourse while they are spending their summer eating their pasties and spilling most of it down their grey barcode shirts.

Imagine the mags were getting the fans in to do stadium repairs, we'd be having a field day.

I think things like letting the kids come in and help paint the concourse of the family enclosure etc would be a great idea, but replacing the seats by fans screams we're skint. Something which i don't actually think they are, but it's the feeling it would give.

If the Mags charged their fans to go to Sid James for an open day, meet the players, spruce the ground up together, paint the waaals and stuff like that, thousands would turn up and think it’s a great idea, to get to mingle with their “idols”

Now if it’s something we suggest it would be small time.

I don’t know if you have noticed by the way, we are now in the third tier, and therefore are a small club now, we just happen to have a big ground in a small time league

I think it works both ways though, clubs consider us customers and we want to be entertained for the money we spend. However it is felt by those doing it, it is free labour so there should be some sort of return. I quite like the idea of season ticket holders getting £5 off their payment or a free drink if they replace the seat themselves. Maybe for non season ticket holders you can have a 'replace 5/10 seats and get a free ticket to a home game this season' or something.

Why do you need something out of it, why not do it just because its a great thing to do and a way of being part of the club?
