Lets hope for once short has made the right decision this time ....................i know i will get shouted down on here but i have to say i am underwhelmed by the press conference and the nitty grity of the deal...........it has the whiff of trotters independent traders all over it............. a good budget for the 1st division is 5 million!...I wish it wasnt so but i see masive job losses ahead and a mid table championship club at best.............I wish the buggers well and i will go to all the home matches as long as im able ...but in the cold light of day we aint going to do a wolves and if the shit hits the fan these fellas wont save us from administration.

You lot are deluded I am afraid. The relegation to third tier and the way it happened with terrible ownership has damaged the fanbase. SAFC is cursed no matter who takes over. There are many fans who simply will not return even if the club does better in future.
We’ve been here before. Within 3 (three) years we were knocking you lot out of the playoffs on your own gravy stained turf.

Lets see how positive everyone still is when they appoint our manager ;)
Are you still confident on Stam? I honestly haven't got a clue now. But I think they already know. To get a manager in a week is a tall order from scratch, but not if the groundwork had already been done. I know they said otherwise but I have a suspicion someone is already lined up. Wish I knew who!

Would you have preferred it if he'd looked as suicidal as David Moyes in his press conferences?

I know as a set of fans you've been kicked in the bollocks repetitively for years but it's the possible good times that makes it worthwhile so try to look forward? I don't expect the new chairman wants to be throwing his money down the shitter bearing in mind he's not a rich fucker in the grand scheme of things.

He did tbf when the other bloke was talking

Now fuck off to London :D

I'm trying to find a response but I'm lost for words mate.

do you have to be an owner for a certain amount of time before you can sell?

not that i expect him to do it mind but could he spend buttons in footballing terms, get us promoted then sell us for a hefty profit in 12 months?
Yep. If he’s happy to do that then our future could be at risk. Turning a quick profit rather than a long term goal is never good for a company like a football club

No idea who the manager is but i think i have a good chance with my Staam bet

Gary or Lee Bowyer? Presumably the former?!

Ha ha, anar what you mean marra. Truth is, we don't have a clue until they get started & have a year or so under their belts. That's how I see it anyway.

Why not Mic Mac, or is that too obvious?
Out of work, experienced, knows the club well, oh and got a new motor the other week in Boldon:lol:

why are people so desperate to find negatives

I've just read the transcript of the presser and I've got to say I'm pretty underwhelmed. Great we're debt free but the whole thing feels pretty amateurish. Hopefully I'll be proved spectacularly wrong ;)

Cheers for that GOM, honestly wish the lads the best of luck with what they are about to do and take on. Hope all us eventually buy into there plans and give them the support they will need.
Hope they weed out all the shite in the club top to bottom and those who were willing to put up with the losing culture are told to fuck off.
Struggling to get excited by this. It’s gonna be a long road back.
But if it's the right road so be it. We need people in charge who make the right decisions for the club - business wise and football wise. If we get the chance to go back to the premier league I'd like to see us going back as a powerful well run beast not the drunken arsehole staggering from one disaster to the next with no moral compass. Big Sam proved it at Bolton and Mr Dyche is proving it at Burnley that well run clubs with inspirational leaders can succeed.
