Was just talking about football in generel marra. I remember Midweek Sports Special and Sportsnight showing live European games in the late 70s and throughout the 80s, f a cup semi final replays. It was great. Now there's a match on nearly every night on sky sports. The only interest I show is when I'm sticking literally a couple of quid on a score and win. If I wasn't doing that I'd take no notice tbhCups been on BBC, itv and BT sports for a canny while now though.
I agree with the thrust of your point though.
A couple of nights out and less hassle
Sure we won it in 73 ,both competitionsForgot about that. Class.
I'm exactly the same. Sometimes I make do with alerts and videos of goals from the latest scores apps, you can get.Was just talking about football in generel marra. I'll be watching almost every game of the world cup. If I haven't got time I'll make time. Kick off times are canny for us anarl. No doubt we'll scrape throgh the group and lose in the last 16I'm exactly the same. Sometimes I make do with alerts and videos of goals from the latest scores apps, you can get.
I'll watch the world cup to buff up on some unknown players from the lower ranked teams
Benitez would mental to leave his current job. Really nuts.
He will never get another like it. Circa £5m a year, no pressure, the unconditional devotion of almost all of his clubs fans, a fawning local media, an un- demanding owner and a lot of waistcoats.
He is a very good coach. He will never be so well rewarded as he is at the moment. Leaving would be an act of self harm.

Very true mate and quite sad.
At one time I'd never leave the house on Cup Final day ...
.... doubt I'll bother this Saturday, rather sit down by the lake watching the kingfishers catching supper for their chicks![]()
Same here, used to love watching from early morning on Cup Final day, cameras on the coaches and everything. Rarely watch nowadays, don't think I could name any of the recent winners apart from Wigan.....used to know them all from 1970 as a kid.
Snap. Used to love cup final weekend. Special edition of question of sport friday night then constant coverage from around 9 am on cup final grandstand, players leaving hotels, coaches on motorways, the fans on route etc. Was brilliant. I could name every winner from 1970 up until the mid 90s Now I'm the same as you, I take no notice as it's shit. Mainly due to Sky Sports. Some people will say they have improved the game no end. I say they have spoiled it. Money has ruined football as far as the average fan goes. Just my opinion like
Freddie Star on the pitch dresed as hitler in shorts too.Forgot about that. Class.

Surprised he hasn't been employed in Europe since leaving man cityWest Ham forums are quoting a Chilean article which claims Pellegrini is a done deal ;
The Chilean Manuel Pellegrini returns to the Premier League. As confirmed by PAUTA.cl, the football coach signed his contract with the London club West Ham United in the last hours with a fundamental mission: to take him to the highest positions of the considered the most competitive championship in the world. West Ham United qualified in the 13th position of the English league in the season that has just ended..........The West Ham United - where Pellegrini will be presented this Monday - is familiar to the Chilean public, in addition, because there he played defender Javier Margas between 1998 and 2001.

I thought it was just me that felt this way. I didn't even know it was on this weekend with all the hype over this Royal wedding. The FA Cup final was everything, the build up all week was massive and just about everyone knew it was cup final weekend. Playing semi finals at Wembley and Sky have killed it for me. I used to be so passionate about football and took a keen interest in everything football related, now my only interest is SAFC but fuck knows the club have tried their best to even ruin that remaining passion.
