My mate lives in Heaton, had his collar bone broken and a few ribs broke, only a few hundred yards from his house. Was off work for several month, so yes, even more affluent areas are not really safe when there’s idiots about.

I suggest he's been unlucky or got himself in a situation, lived here for 25 years and never been attacked once.
It's a hell of a lot safer than most of the major cities in this country imho, as is the North East in general.

People keep saying both clubs are similar so why move.

Ashley won't give Benitez what he wants but West Ham will, simple as that.

I agree Ashley will not give him top dollar.ive no idea how much he is expecting or how much every penny generated really means in ££ but i do know Benitez may as well move on if he wants to move us up a level as we dont have the money to do it.things have changed since the Halls but some of us just dont get it.10th is us at max unless a country takes over us, in the main you buy the titles now with the very odd exception.

I did say in the main money talks.Leicester was in truth a one off, like nothing ive ever known yet somehow they never looked like losing that title, incredible season like.

It was but it shows it's possible but highly unlikely. Even winning cups is getting harder.

I actually think its impossible and fuck knows how they did it, they put the fear factor into teams that season.

I agree, i never get excited as i know come 1/4 final stage we will get twonked, not that we ever make it that far....i will never see my team EVER collect a domestic trophy in truth so how the fuck we sell so many tickets is beyond me.

Very true mate and quite sad.

At one time I'd never leave the house on Cup Final day ...

.... doubt I'll bother this Saturday, rather sit down by the lake watching the kingfishers catching supper for their chicks ;)

Same here, used to love watching from early morning on Cup Final day, cameras on the coaches and everything. Rarely watch nowadays, don't think I could name any of the recent winners apart from Wigan.....used to know them all from 1970 as a kid.

Snap. Used to love cup final weekend. Special edition of question of sport friday night then constant coverage from around 9 am on cup final grandstand, players leaving hotels, coaches on motorways, the fans on route etc. Was brilliant. I could name every winner from 1970 up until the mid 90s Now I'm the same as you, I take no notice as it's shit. Mainly due to Sky Sports. Some people will say they have improved the game no end. I say they have spoiled it. Money has ruined football as far as the average fan goes. Just my opinion like

Cups been on BBC, itv and BT sports for a canny while now though.

I agree with the thrust of your point though.

I don't think he will go but you can't rule out Ashley quite fancying pocketing £6m compo and then getting a new manager in for a lesser wage.
A couple of nights out and less hassle
