The weekly wheres Rafa going thread :lol:

He has to go at one point or another mate, year on his contract and no sign of a new one.

I'm actually amazed at how many people believe this story is all about him manipulating the media .... he's not the f***ing CIA

This is all coming from West Ham but people keep insisting it's just a ply to get more money off Ashley.

Absolute nonsense in my opinion.

If he does leave I will illegally download mark Douglas book about how the rafalution turned an entire city around lol, I may even serialise it for the us all to chew over and enjoy.

They’ve bounced back first time. Twice. Their ONLY two years outside of the premier league. Their owner bankrolled them to the tune of £60m+ to get back into the premier league, despite being universally hated by the fans. They’ve had champions league football, European football, a 5th and 10th place recent finishes in the premier league. They convinced a champions league winning, ex Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid manager to come to them and stay with them for a championship season. They are the north east media darlings. They’ve had many more notable players play for them. They've had loads of recent good results against the top 6 sides... just to name a few things.

I’d take a season of champions league football, or European football, or a 5th place finish, or a champions league winning manager take charge of us. Just because they’ve never won a trophy doesn’t mean they’re not jammy. Any shit they fall into they’re straight back out of, within a single season.
There was a thread the other week where nearly everybody said our 6 in a row, LC final and relegating them was better than anything they had achieved in the last 20 years. Opinions differ.

To be honest I can't see why he'd go there - his problem at Newcastle is he doesn't have an owner who shares his vision - why would he go to work with the idiot owners of West Ham?

Cannot wait marra

To wind up the many skunks on here, some of whom that have crawled out from under a rock to have a pop.

I knew he'd spent a few bob, but 166 million is staggering.

Can't think of which players amounted to that total as when he came to try and save them(and failed) that transfer window had been and gone. So the reality is that he spent 166 mill in 2 seasons !

Unbelievable if 100pc accurate.

The 166 million is including the two transfer windows McClaren had. The lad was making a point about Ashley not spending rather than the £80m Benitez has been able to spend in 3 transfer windows.

Sky get about 95% of things wrong. Everyday this week 'Sky Sources' have had a new person taking over at Arsenal. Luis Enrique, Allegri, Vieira and Arteta. Who will it be today I wonder?

have been rumours he feels he owes us after agreeing to join then reneging literally at the last minute when Madrid came in

As put on the other thread there plenty of cash floating around too, 43m net profit last season, 30m profit after that in January transfers, plus whatever was made this season
Mags love a net spend. Maybe they will end up supporting West Ham if he goes there seeing as they live him more than the club itself.

Nowhere near that figure tbh.

They've never said anyone is 'taking over' at Arsenal, just that various people are in the frame .... which is true.

They report on the stories going around, they don't make them up.

Not that I like Sky but they do get a lot right.

We;re also interviewing Unai Eery today, so we may well make a move for Rafa but I don't think we have been told he wants to come or why keep chasing Emery and Pellegrini

But you avoided answering the question .... where would he go that's a top class job?

I said I would like to think he would be leaving for a better club than West Ham,no mention of him going to a top class club, for what it’s worth I don’t think a top class club will come in for him.

Owes you enough to leave Newcastle? Doubt it.

If you were to put a figure on the transfer budget you expect, what would it be?

It's quite usual to interview more than one candidate.

Perhaps West Ham have leaked the Benitez story to push those two along in their decision making.

This story is coming from West Ham, not Benitez.

Clearly Benitez up to his usual media tricks. Will be a few good few more weeks of this to have a chuckle at.

It will be whatever Ashley decides it will be, its his money.
