Maybe true because uselessone had meetings with them today looks like bye bye uselessone

Rewarded handsomely for yet another failure

Is this Moyes you're talking about?

I'm amused by the amount of people who'll say 'he's done a good job there' simply because there were more poor teams at the bottom.

For a club, with that squad, finishing above the likes of Watford, Huddersfield & Swansea should be expected.

Despite his legendary 'organisation' Moyes presided over the worst defence in the league.

Hope he goes somewhere with a weaker squad next. Could be amusing...

How often do you watch 90 minutes? They've both had good seasons overall and are better players now than those he inherited. So much so that Shelvey is rightfully being talked up for a spot in the World Cup squad based on his form. Fwiw I don't think he'll go because there are still question marks over his discipline.

Perez has 8 goals and 5 assists in an average squad, but more than that he's changed his game to better slot into what Benitez wants from his attacking midfielder. Harassing the opposition's back line and deeper midfielders and what not.

Agree that the squad needs a lot of investment (£70m+). The players have had to work hard in every game to cover a shortfall in quality and even then the really good sides just needed to not have a bad day to get 3pts. Clubs like Everton, Palace and Southampton will all improve on a pretty disappointing 17/18 season and if we don't get some quality we'll surely drop out of the top half. Obviously if Ashley again fails to deliver on his repeated promise to provide Benitez with "every penny the club generates" Benitez may justifiably have had enough and I worry about the calibre of manager that follows him.

Ashley has never failed to deliver that promise.

a net debt of 150m shows hes backed you more than he should have. without that netdebt youve generated nothing since Ashley bought the club.

The net debt is effectively the 80M it was when he bought the club, plus a £30M shortfall for each relegation season (his chosen managers). Bar the TV revenue which he has no control over, every other revenue stream has fallen under his ownership, plus he hasn't paid a bean for advertising since he owned the club.
Despite all the money sloshing around in the game, NUFC's net spend under is ownership is about £25m in 10 years, while not a penny has been spent on the facilities.
