Yes Newcastle have hundreds of thousands of fans. No I'm not Andy h/ Michael Martin. I have just spent a small fortune travelling around America so am having a quiet weekend in watching the boxing and reading football forums/YouTube. Probably 10x more than anything you lot have don't recently if we are going to make personal assumptions.

If Sunderland had somehow sold out your stadium constantly for 20 years and had played 100 plus European games we would never ever hear the end of it.

"Barcelona are our rivals now" well yeah they obviously were briefly when we were in a champions league group with them twice.

Fair one. I can appreciate it's been trotted out hundreds of times. I'm just a bit passionate in defending my team after all the stick it gets that's all. Just the way I read about Newcastle on here is like we are some little club playing in front of 20,000 in the championship and none of our good seasons ever happened. I was only putting points across why it is possible to debate newcastle and Everton. In that we have had better league finishes, cl football, more European football, higher crowds.

I do agree with some of your points but they are mainly due to Ashley taking us backwards since 2008. We had regular European football and 7 top 6 finishes pre Ashley. And 1 in 10 years with Ashley. It's a close thing but the way some people go on is like I'm comparing Northampton to Everton not Newcastle

It's never a convenient way to cherry pick Newcastle's most 'successful' top flight seasons in the last 60-70 years, is it? Even then, Everton won the cup during that time and Newcastle....
