I'm pretty certain we'll be seeing most of them again. My lad has a theory that they'll come back in a mix'n'match kind of fashion. The breaking up of traditional teams as such, but a forging of fresh alliances. They need to keep it moving along, but can't afford to really lose their big hitters.
They really can afford to lose the big hitters.

There were 6 Avengers originally, Ironman, Cap, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye.

As an example if they kill all of those off we have a potential roster of:
Doctor Strange, Antman, Wasp, War Machine, Falcon, Spiderman, Scarlet Witch, and Black Panther, Bucky Barnes, and I assume Captain Marvel

That's 10 characters (although war machine and falcon seem expendible), theres a lot of bloat character wise.

They really can afford to lose the big hitters, Black Panther, Spiderman, and Doctor Strange are the new big hitters, they will have their trilogies and crossovers.

We'll be getting Guardians 3, maybe after that we'll see some them feature on Earth based crossovers.

There are a lot of films planned, up to 2028 iirc, I can't see a 63 year-old RDJ flying around as Ironman then. Factor in his deal costs a bomb, and as far as im aware he isn't up for Ironman 4, we could easily see Stark getting killed off.

There will be new characters coming, we don't who yet. Disney will own loads, we also (could?) have them buying Fox meaning they have the likes of the X-Men, Dead Pool, the Fantastic 4 to play with.

They’ll just recast iron man. You don’t kill off billion dollar assets.

They’re doing 3-4 films a year from 2019/20 onwards so they could keep some of the main players. The likes of Black Widow/Hawkeye are never getting their own films so if you look at the ones left as their core going forward

GOTG
Iron Man
Thor
Spider-Man
Doctor Strange
Black Panther
Captain America
Captain Marvel
Ant Man

Hulk isn’t going to get another film either as Mark Ruffalo has said that he sees Ragnarok and the two Infinity War films as being a Hulk trilogy for where he’s going.

You could easily work on 3-4 films a year from those left.

Hulk films are always shit. Reckon they have give up trying to make a good one of them. Shame Ruffalo never got the chance (he didn’t right?). Hawkeye just needs killing off ASAP.

No need, anyone can wear the suit. You can have Ironman without Tony Stark. I'm sure there will be many examples in the source material.

My guess is that RDJ carries on as a JARVIS/Friday AI type character although it’s not like he has loads of stunts to do anyway as he’s just a face on a green screen

No the last one was Edward Norton.

And it was shit.

I thought they already had bought out Fox, and that those other franchises will start to reappear. I agree that RDJ won't want to be getting into the action any more, but wondered if he might take a background role. Whatever they choose to do, there will be plenty of superb characters to keep them busy for ages.

.

Well currently in the comic version Tony Stark is in a coma after having the crap kicked out of him by Captain Marvel. The current wearer of the armour is a young lass, Riri Williams, and Tony Stark is the AI

I thought that was the case but wasn't positive and was too lazy to check.

We better get a new wolverine, I like Jackman but he's too old.

In terms of who has done the most films and have contracts up, it’s predictable who will be affected by whatever magic, time travel or other mystic woo Dr Strange has set up to sort things out in the next film. Black Panther has only just started going so they’ll all be reinstated, Guardian Readers of the Galaxy will come back, Dr Strange has only had one film etc. Iron Man could take a back seat and Chris Evans has I believe already indicated he isn’t renewing his contract. With Thor though, it would be interesting (and cause mass online Broflake diarrhoea) if they used this as an opportunity to fiddle with the space time continuum and turn Thor into a woman like in the current Marvel comics run

The female Thor is now dead, she sacrificed her life to beat something that was destroying the Asgardians. The original, Thor Odinson, has returned with a new arm and hammer
