Jarrow Roofing FC

I used to go to loads of Boldon CW home games as a nipper. Used to get crowds of between 10 and 20. Some of them only popped in for a few minutes between bowls matches.

Jarrow Roofing transformed the place; dug outs, covered seats and even a terraced stand. When I went, there was a rail round the pitch to lean on a grassy bank behind one of the goals.
Flashing the cash doesn't always work

Bloke has done well to build it from nothing, regardless of people’s opinion of him.

Jarrow Roofing was one man's pet project, so it was difficult to see how locals could get a sense of engagement with such a team, which was reflected in the crowds. To stay where they did for so long must have taken a huge amount of personal investment, both in time and finances. Don't know the bloke personally. Don't think they'll be missed by the Northern League as looking to lose teams anyway to get down to 20 in each league. Right next door to Boldon of the Wearside League who might pick up a few more spectators now.

Surprised it went under, it was just a one man project but you would of thought after all this time he would of tried to spread the cost around etc.
