i would never condone football
Violence but do deal in facts - Sunderland have not ever bought numbers to cause mischief in and around SJP or North of the Tyne! NUFC fans ( or not fans) have a history of it, especially at Roker Park circa late 70s through to 90s - after that the police had it virtually sorted!
Except in 2002 at NS fish quay and we all know what happened there, one pour soul ended up brain damaged.
 
you can all deal with legend and myth but I grew up in that era, as did loads of your solid lads!
This website is excellent for good football craic, with subjects wide and varied and intelligently commented on!
Football hooligans belong in a different era with different social times!
All the book are written by blokes in their 50s, times change

The planes the hanging flags on each others signs or bridges. Great stuff

But the violence belongs in the past- if you differ then fair enough

Well you’ve summed up the mentality of the 2 sets of fans yourself.

The safc hoolie mobs were mainly setup to deter the mags from their pathetic attempts at infiltration and trying to take the piss in Sunderland.

And the mags mainly got battered for their efforts.

I don’t ever remember NUFC hoolies getting battered anywhere in and around either SOL or RP - I’m sure some did

Don’t get me wrong Sunderland did have a tight unit with some very solid lads!

What you see now when we walk up to each other’s stadiums is just handbags!

I repeat those days are gone! And the world is a better place

On a lighter note I know that the mags were called 3 or 4 times to meet up but didn’t want to know,
They spout shite then arse off.

The point I was making is it’s simply straw clutching’

The one time the big meet up happened a Sunderland fan ended up brain damaged!

I grew up in that era too.
And was part of it to an extent.
And no I don't think it is hard or clever just "of the time" like after mods punks skins and rockers :)
I never had animosity towards Newcastle then but there are some propper sad melts who let yoos down time and time again as the years go by.

I didn't join a mag forum to take the piss when you went down and never will.
