I didn’t renew at the end of 16/17 because I found it hard to watch what the club had become (no atmosphere, fans emotionally battered within an inch of their lives etc; a club dying basically), but I’ve ended up going to about 10 games this season, more as time went on. I just couldn’t leave it be. For all it hurt going to some games this season at times, it hurt more staying away. The missus didn’t bat an eyelid when I decided to get my ticket back; she knows it is who I am.

Taking the bairn next season too, and even my 72 year old fatha is thinking of coming back (he didn’t renew at the end of 16/17 either.

Renewed again, thats every season now at SOL.

Also bought my 10 year old her first season ticket...just 40 pound for the daughter, she has to attend just 5 games to make it worth her while.
Ive been taking her since she was 6 to the odd game here and there.
In that time she has seen us win once.
Here is to winning football!

Season ticket in North West Upper so had to move, could'nt be arsed, had enough anyway so stopped direct debit with my bank on 22nd April......did'nt feel right tho'.
Enter new owner, lifted my gloom, went to ticket office yesterday, new seats (me plus 4) in East stand. Haway the lads:)

Renewed primarily for away matches.
But the main thing the new owners must do is to get the manager to sort out our home form. For too long going to the match has been a chore and miserable experience.

Well played everyone who has renewed and to all of those coming back after a break. Hopefully there will be more positivity around the club between now and August and a few more will have their passion re-ignited. I think we've now all pretty much forgotten how it feels to be happy inside that stadium, with a bit of luck we've better days ahead.

That's sad about your dad. I am in the same age group as him and although I have always renewed my two mates between them had over 110 years watching Sunderland did not. When I see this happening it really brings home how far this club ( once the be all and end all for so many) has dropped.
Hopefully the events of the last week will go some way in restoring peoples pride once again.

I have often said "there is no better sight than three generations of one family walking across the railway bridge on their way to the Stadium" so have a great time the three of you.

Some one wrote earlier that if we get a good run and are near the top of the division Sunderland should bring the part season ticket in at Christmas, this, hopefully, would bring more families back.

I have went on a bit but its the way I feel at the moment.

If the rumour doing the rounds last Saturday was 16000, is there an up to date rumour / figure which reflects the new sales following this weeks news ?

You can count my son and I. After 11 years the doctor has finally allowed me to return. As soon as he said it was OK off I went to the SOL and bought two. I also got parking at the stadium as I walk with two walking sticks now. I am looking forward to seeing us play again. By the way thank you Hank for your life football on tv threads. For the last few years it has been a life saver.
Thsts the spirit mate. Fair play to you!

All sorted for me and the boy in family zone, plus me mate and his 2 kids. Lass in ticket office didn't know how many had been sold so far, but says sales are "going well".

Also a heads up for anyone still to renew or buy, club are keeping prices at renewal price until Monday, then price going up to after deadline prices.
What will they go up to out of interest ? Has it been announced?
