Time for the lads to bounce back, although the early forecast says the winner in this one may be the weather.

Can Markram score a run? Can we as a team secure a batting bonus point?! As bad as our start was, Northants have had it worse - 2 defeats, only 5 points on the board and not scored more than 218 in an innings (with a low of 71).

Northants 4/6, Durham 6/5.

No squad news as yet, but I expect Potts to miss out through injury and Steel to return.

coughlin to miss out imo, odd that harte isn't in the squad isn't it?

Think he was only called up at the last minute when Steel dropped out.

na harte was in the squad at the same time as harte, perhaps he was added if they suspected steel was going to be poorly but not sure, 13 man squad is fairly standard isn't it, this one is just a 12 man squad

It is a bit, but clearly the choice has been made regarding the batting. Always wondered why teams will name 12 as opposed to 13.
No idea if this is correct but do they not normally name 12 for away games and 13 for home games?

No idea mate, well noticed mind if that is indeed the case ;)

Northants: Alex Wakeley, Luke Provter, Richard Levi, Adam Rossington, Josh Cobb, Rob Keogh, Ben Duckett, Steven Crook, Doug Bravewell, Ben Hutton, Richard Gordon, Ben Sanderson, Rob Newton.

Dont feel we can maintain Richardson AND Poynter can both justify being in the same side whilst neither are pulling up trees with the bat.

defs not

Tin hat on, never really rated Rico, think he has been a survivor due to the way the finances went

He has had his moments and he did take over from Mustard purely on form with bat and gloves. His problem is consistency with the bat, but as a wicket keepng all rounder he is a half decent county cricketer that would get in quite a few county sides, but as a specialist batsmen probably a bit short. Personally not sure about this Poynter experiment especially if Richardson is batting at 5 or 6 in the order.

aye pointer has been given the gloves in the hopes it means Richardson can excel with bat, which he isn't doing.

questions we need to answer

would poynter get in ahead of Richardson as wicket keeper batsman?
is there anyone better than Richardson to come in as a batsman? [harte, pringle only candidates I can think of atm]
which gives us the best combination of glove work and run scoring - Richardson & poynter, harte & Richardson or pringle & Richardson?

edit: or harte/pringle & poynter

Lashing down at the ground today, so early drinks in London Town pre Fulham and hoping that the weather will be better for Saturday/Sunday! Otherwise it'll be off to Dulwich Hamlet and chuck some money in the pot for them tomorrow and a bit of gardening on Sunday!
