Sunderland. Takeover. New foreign group been over. Looked round yesterday. But doubts about whether anyone has funds for this thing.

Sunderland. Problem is the ongoing costs. That’s on top of any money paid to Short. Local group wanted to manage it and then take over. Looked possible at one point. Now not so much. Short wants guaranteed exit ASAP. Just don’t see this being sorted fast myself.

I can't see us being bought out this year. We're going to have to play next year with the kids and some free transfers. Try to cling on to L1 status until the contracts run out and our outgoings are more manageable.
 
I really hope I am wrong, but I can’t see a takeover happening.

Bain mentioned on Monday that him and Coleman may have to arrange a sit-down with Short to discuss funds for next season

Been saying for ages that the trouble is that whoever buys us will need to have a lot of funds due to the money we've been losing just to ensure they can cover losses never mind the fact we need to invest something in the side (albeit not a huge sum in league one). Some have been saying they don't need money, they just need to know how to run a club but it isn't that simple
