No mention whatsoever today in that paper of Durham's season opener. I suppose why would a Northumberland paper give a toss about County Durham?

Makes sense for Durham not to give a toss about Northumberland too I suppose .

The Journal's coverage of Durham has been shit for about the last 15 years.
Tbh I'm suprised its still going seeing as how these days the downmarket Chronicle is on sale in the mornings.

The Journal decided, last September, to use agency reports and not send Stuart Rayner any no longer to allow him to concentrate on the his coverage of Sunderland.

So why do Durham play a game in Northumberland then?

the article in the northern echo was disgusting as well mind. showing a picture of empty seats to highlight poor attenance, yet the stand they showed was the stand that is closed to safety reasons

Have they binned Tim Wellock off?

Seems Scott Wilson is doing the Durham stuff and I doubt whether he actually knows what cricket is. He writes his articles as if the reader has never seen a game of cricket before

There was a well to do couple sitting a few rows in front of me who were saying the very same anđ the woman was that disgusted that she was threatening to write a strongly worded letter to The Editor.

I presumed they were locals unless of course they were Kent supporters from Tunbridge Wells.

I don't think he knows much about football either judging by match reports. He's a Jock, I believe, which probably explains it.
