I thought Weighall batted superbly today (even though some radgee in the Don Robson was complaining about his shot selection) and was supported well by tenacious contributions from Potts and Rimmington but the contributions of the Top Seven was as bad as I've seen for a long long time.
I fear this wont be the last time this season that the away team decide it will be a rather jolly idea to ask us to take first knock and reap the rewards.

This rule is absolute shite like especially for a ground like the Riverside. Also noticeble how we've struggled since it was brought in, being asked to bat first at Headingley or Scarborough every game is no fun. Then when we go away it's an absolute road (The Oval, Hampshite) a Bunsen (Ciderabad) or a pitch that starts off a road then deteriorates (OT) and we always end up losing the toss and bowling first.

The problem is the predictability of it all.

Aiden Markram is the first player to make a pair on his first day of County Championship cricket.
Imagine if he'd made a couple of centuries and could never live up to the promise...

We're gonna lose by an innings inside four sessions
Oh no we won't!!

Oh sorry not chrimbo any more.

I wonder what the lowest score to win by an innings is
Without checking, it'll be about 80, when they used to play in gaiters.

Pre-season has been non-existent
They started preseason in November man.

Away from the cricket, and this has been long overdue, the catering has finally taken an upwards turn. The Stottie Company van, parked behind the pavilion offers a stottie bun, drink, piece of fruit and bag of crisps for £5. There all season so they said. Now all we need is a real ale tent...

With the game finishing 7 sessions early The Stottie Co. have truely been introduced to the harsh realities of life with Durham CCC.
