Keep this lot and it’ll be a similar season to this. We’ll be like kids starting big school. Steep learning curve and there’ll be some swift and severe lessons taught.
I would honestly get what I could for ANY of this squad, get shot of the rest and start completly anew next season. Also get a new manager in. I know CC's hands have been tied in the transfer market but his tactics and substitutions have been pathetic.

Am I right in thinking it's better (financially) that we go down? The money for staying up is not that great but we can take that parachute money, plus the takeover money, clear the decks and come straight back up!
I'm as sick as the rest of you that we yet again, undid anything good we created. Bent scoring..has he scored at all this season?
It's certainly no worse. The FFP rules restrict you to wages being 60% of turnover, but you can exclude players who signed long term deals before the start of this season from it. Factor in the parachute, and our wage cap will be higher than most clubs turnover. For transfers, anything over 0 is a huge budget in that league. We should be able to attract the best players available on frees by offering a little bit more than other teams can, and still be paying them a fifth of what a lot of our current players are earning.

First of all. A very hearty thank you for your insight into financial matters regarding the club this season. Well done sir! Many people appreciated it.
Secondly. I'm not sad about today's result. I think the 40 somethings and older accept that it's not about today. It's about the other 40 odd matches. I feel for the younger generation though, because if the club lose them. They really are in trouble. I've felt at times during the ES tenure that he believes that regardless of whatever crap he churns out. the fans will still come, because that's all they have. Which is disrespectful.

So, in theory. We head to a lower league, with a big bag full of cash and a sea full of sharks waiting to take it off us! Couldn't that equally be bad unless we have the right people in place to make sure that doesn't happen?

I was supposed to be there today but work prevailed ;/ sorry for being a twat....just very upset right now

Not really at this level. Most players in League 1 are getting £2k/week at most. We just need to be offering the best ones £2.5-3k/week to replace players on 5 times that who will be leaving.

Apologies. Shite internet over here.

This thread though.

:lol::lol::lol:

Sorry, but its comedy gold. Good luck next season anyway. Gotta get on the phone to my father in law to wind him up a bit. Good natured banter.

Your team are playing in a crucial game and you're on a Sunderland thread? Why aren't you at the game? Or focusing on your own team?

You really are a sad, pathetic weirdo.

When you're on the phone to your father in law, make sure you tell him you spent your Saturday Afternoon on a Sunderland forum whilst your 'team' where playing at the same time.
