Pringle doesn't appear to have progressed in the last 2 years but two points I'd offer in his defence. He was primarily a batsman who was encouraged to develop his spin for the good of the team and probably contributed to the regression of his batting. Also batting at seven you're often left with the tail with little chance to develop an innings. For that reason I'd give him a final chance at six and forget about his bowling.

Yeah I agree with that, mixed signals for young players not always ideal

No spinner? @brandon

Might get stick for this but I am a bit disappointing if that is our team

I know its hard with losing players, I get that, but that is only 4 local lads in the side, if we are going to struggle I'd rather it would be with more of our own
Look at it this way - 8 of the 11 have played the vast majority of their FC cricket for DCCC, some like Steel and McCarthy are as much part of the furniture now as Colly or Rushy and hopefully it stays that way. Smith is returning to a place he loves after a short sabbatical elsewhere.

Couldn't agree more.

Fair point yeah

I was being picky and unrealistic but in an ideal world it is what I would like

13-man squad named:

Paul Collingwood (c), Cameron Steel, Aiden Markram, Will Smith, Gareth Harte, Graham Clark, Michael Richardson, Stuart Poynter, Matthew Potts, Nathan Rimmington, Barry McCarthy, James Weighell, Chris Rushworth

As expected, basically just the Uni squad with Markram added.

Be good to finally see the season start. NEPL starts on Saturday (SAFC at home also)_ and the bairn has his first under 18 game next Tuesday v Burnmoor.

I'll be down tomorrow at some point late morning.

We should have comfortably beaten them last season if it hadnt been for Northeast's two knocks and Big Mitch hanging on in the end but the former is now at Hampshite and Claydon's injured so lets get off to a winning start lads!
Will see where the wicket is before deciding where to sit tomorrow.
