Durham Mags

Just driving through Durham, going down the bank into the centre through the traffic lights. Hardly moving, obviously, but the cars going in the opposite direction are going ever so slightly quicker. I have my window down and some fella going the other way catches my eye, flicks his tongue up and spits at the ground next to me. I was startled by this but then realised why it happened... I’m wearing a Sunderland shirt.
Absolutely hate Durham Mags.
It's their strange way of showing admiration for the shirt!

There was always a few who followed them before 1992, and that was in the East Durham mining villages, so I'd imagine in Durham City where it's just as close to Newcastle there were plenty of them before 1992.

Just seen Theresa talking about a clampdown on the plastic menace, there on the telly box so maybe they can be rehoused to save our environment.

Or put in a hole...

Thats unusual a mag being able to do two things at the same time, drive and cockle.
