It's like saying Koemsn shouldn't have been judged on his transfer activity and for spending loads of cash at Everton because he only had that money through the sale of Lukaku etc. Its ridiculous.

But he made the team worse.
And he spent far more than he brought in..
 
So the people are different to us, despite most of us living next to them and players can’t travel to their city for a night out. What a load of f***ing shite spouted by the cockney twat. They still pay over the odds to get players to go there, however they just pick the right players. Being honest, they have done a great rebuilding job, fair play, but that has nothing to do with Sunderland nor Middlesbrough not being able to match them for pulling power. Just be thankful that relegation has been avoided and things are looking bright. There really is no reason to bring other clubs into it, however as a football club, they do seem to do it regularly. When they sign they must read from cue cards Android get Sunderland in there somehow to earn a bonus. Why do the wankers feel the need to pull anyone else down? What did they used to say when it was done to them, small club mentality.

He had the funds but he had some big holes to fill - janmaat, winjaldum, Townsend, sissoko, cisse, cabella and a few other squad players all bailed. He bought very well to get us back up. Many on here said ‘he didn’t know the league’ and would struggle. He spent the money but Ashley wasn’t dishing it out from his pocket.

Again I agree, it definitely is. Ashley has ran the club tremendously well all things considered. Had Short run the club better we might have seen the thirty million from Pickford being used.

All I've ever said is regardless of how fifty million was made available, he had it to spend. Which gave him, and them, a big advantage over many.

I'd say he's only just cottoned to the fact that this only works with an excellent manager. Giving McLaren money to spend was foolishness in the extreme.

Agreed. But he had to fill them in a poor league (yes despite us being the poorest it's still poor) and the two big movers were slated by your lot as being absolutely shite most of the time.

Your last point is relevant when judging Ashley not Benitez. As I've been saying. And tbf, if he is able to hand over fifty million to get you back up, and make a profit, whilst paying your manager top whack, he isn't doing too badly.

Boro got Negredo on loan. Despite being utter horse shit for them he came from great stock. Whether they paid him shit loads or not they made the club attractive enough for him.

IMO Benitez has been hit and miss in the transfer market. Not many managers in the championship were able to throw 5m (think that's right?) at someone like Murphy, to be used as a sub, and then binned once the job was done.

Can't argue with his work this season mind. Got a fairly average squad (which he assembled tbf) well organised and safe with room to spare. Impressed with his work with loans in January, as the keeper and winger seem to have made the difference from what I've seen.

The thing is he spouting shite that he can’t prove. He will know fuck all about wages and the like. Again though that isn’t the point. Just revel in what you have achieved, why bring others into it in a show of oneupmanship. It’s all childish, tiresome and disrespectful.

It's like VAT or corporation tax, money brought in is offset by what you spend to give a net profit on which you are taxed.
