Takeover talks not going great

I’m hoping any new owner will gamble on getting us back into the top flight where the match day revenue is not so important. See Bournemouth. If I had billions I would pump up the stadium and charge £10-15 a seat. Let away teams bring 5000, have a neutral area like Fulham to get around the rules.
Sounds like a plan! I don't think any other PL sides charge £10-£15 a ticket though.
In any event the real problem we would have is getting the right players to come the club. That's been the major problem for the last 10 years.

I think we will need a bigger stadium to compete, everyone else are going 60,000 plus. Player want to play in front of big crowds. ( not our current bunch of cowards but they will be gone). I know at the moment it might sound a bit premature but we will be back and we need to be innovative to make a better go of it. I’m hoping our new owners have cash with positive forward thinking

Sunderland. Main worry is size of payroll next season. Doesn’t matter who’s in charge. May be further talks with local chap. But whether they have money to handle potential losses is a doubt.

I mentioned on a previous thread that I was a bit anxious when hearing that those involved in the potential takeover might not have much money, saying that I felt they needed funds just in case we continue to make losses. Was told I was being unrealistic and what did I expect etc. Fact is if they've got very little available money to put in, it's hardly worth it and it's a huge risk

Need to have cash if you’re to buy a football club regardless of which division they ply their trade.

It’s a double edged sword as we are desperate for change however it’s going to need to savvy recruitment. All comes at a cost....

According to Nixon.

Not surprised. Happened last year. Talk of something good imminent get our hopes up and the hopes are dashed when we realize the talk is only to get hopes up.

I told you all so. Ellis is going to be our owner for many years to come. I told you all it was all too good to be true.

What Ellis needs to do now is prepare for not only next season but the next 2-3 because I think it would be more prudent right now to make a plan for the long term.

Mate this is a very honest question.

Do you honestly think the best thing to do when, heading to div 1 and the financial abyss is to build a 60,000 seater ground ?

Clearly then there are no monied people interested. Sounds like it’s pretty much a load of chancers. We are in real trouble until that debt goes and the debt ain’t going very far in the third division.

Very worrying and doesn’t bode well for the short term.
