Aye, if Liverpool hadn’t have signed Salah I doubt they would be in the last four of the Champions League.

Ashley has the club in perfect shape, not paying huge wages to overated players. He has a 'world class' manager in place, yet the mags still despise him, i really dont get it. Most of the time if you spend money in the premier league you end up with players with attitudes who think they are better, who think they should be abit bigger clubs. Only the top 6 can get really quality in by spending, the other big buys are the best of the rest who dont really want to be at clubs tbey are signing for

My point is without the loan signings he’s made, the squad he’s spent so much money on would be sitting much closer to the bottom 3.

More than likely but as a Sunderland fan you’ve got to see how using the loan market can benefit you (albeit massively short term)

I hope it isn’t a regular policy though as we’ll more than likely go down your road.

His aim was to keep them up and he has, so he’s clearly done a good job in that respect. If Brighton and/or Huddersfield stay up however, their manager(s) will be far more deserving of praise. Benitez has wasted quite a lot of money along the way.
