No cash turnstiles tomorrow night...

Apart from those who only find out at short notice they’re available to go to the match, why is no cash turnstiles as bad as being made out? I know it isn’t ideal as it’s one less way for people to get in, but why can’t people just phone up or go online to buy one a few days in advance and have it posted out to you or collect it from the ticket office? It’s not as if matches are sprung up out of nowhere at the last minute and you must surely have decided whether you’re going to bother a few days before the match takes place.

I’m a season card holder so maybe I’m missing something but apart from what I said at the start of the post I’m genuinely interested why it’s so bad to the point people are saying it’s a joke and makes them unable to go?

I think you still need a membership number?

Fair enough, does make it more awkward then I agree but still, most are bound to have either a purchase history themselves or know someone with one.

stupid decision , school hols and people may just want to turn up , this mags stuff is utter bollocks

A significant number of Newcastle fans were stopped from entering The Stadium of Light at the club ticket office on Tuesday night. We understand Police issued a number of ‘orders to leave’ to individuals prior to kick off.

it wasn't bollocks.

Load of shite.

We understand Sunderland also worked with Norwich to stop a number of known Newcastle fans entering the away end with pre-bought tickets on Tuesday night.

Find it hard to believe. Aye the mags are a special breed, but £30 on a pissy wet shitty Tuesday night when Man City vs Liverpool is on TV, I'm finding it hard to believe they would turn up at Sunderland to watch Sunderland vs Norwich. Someone on here would have mentioned seeing folk getting turned away surely?

Three people

Three people apparently were seen. Two kids and a bloke in his 40s. Posted on here by two different people.

aye because (according to the club) they were turfed and sent packing prior to kick off.

I suspect the "order to leave" craic has come directly from Northumbria Police and they'll have no reason to lie.

Three people

why would the police say a significant number if it was just three?

....Aye 'Northumbria Police' never lie.:lol::rolleyes:

Telling you. Nowhere to be seen the black n whites. Why would they announce they turned them away anyway? Hardly headline news.

they haven't announced anything. Keith Downie as a journalist has heard the rumours & clearly asked those that would know if it's true.

I think you're underestimating the stupidity of that mob.

What mob?

Newcastle fans. I'm not on about any old school hooligans turning up chanting & looking for a scrap but their fan base is built on sheep like mentality. One bloke suggests it would be funny as fuck at work and before you know it there's 50 all wanting tickets.

Coleman's on Sky now talking about it so he must be in on the lie too. I just don't know why we'd close cash turnstiles, ask the police to lie about orders to leave that were issued & have the manager on Sky talking about lies too. Who benefits?
