Just for a bit of balance with regards to Roy Hodgson, as we mags on here do like to go on about points per game when a manager hasn't had a full season.
Hodgson has picked up 31 in 29 games. Had he been there for the full 33 games that palace had played, they'd be at 35 points with that points per game ratio, sitting in 14th place. The points per game has them on course for 40 points over a 38 game season.
Or they're on course for 36 points based on the 34 games hodgson will have.
So he's not doing terrible, but possibly for the calibre of the players in the squad you may expect a bit more.

Didn't Benitez go on something like your worst run of home results ever earlier in the season? Not saying it was definitely that, but something along those lines, consecutive defeats or something? How does that win him manager of the year exactly?

I don't know. I don't think he should be anywhere near the voting for manager of the year. Dyche and Guardiola and nobody else even close.
Edit: yes there was a run which broke some unwanted records. Went 5 defeats in a row at home and then drew the 6th game

Guiding a team widely tipped by the sages of RTG to be relegation certainties into a current top half position.

What have Hodgson or Dyche (who are also being touted) achieved?
The season isn't over yet. Benitiz has achieved nothing yet - agreed, you are safe from relegation but let's not pretend that any of you claimed anything other than a Top 10 finish was the minimum due to the world-class manager you have at the helm.

Dyche has taken a small club to the brink of European football. Hughton looks like keeping a small team in Brighton in the Premier League. I'd have Eddie Howe ahead of Benitiz too. Not to mention Guardiola, Mourniho, Pottchetino, Conte, Klopp and Wenger.

There's a thread where mags were giving their predictions. Quite a few of us at the same time. Don't think anybody seriously suggested top 10 minimum.
I made the point that in 16/17 45 points was enough for 10th place, and 45 points wasn't an unrealistic target. Currently 7 points away from 45 with 6 games to go.

Also Conte and Wenger?
Conte defending his title gonna finish outside the champions league places, currently 10 points adrift.
Wenger in 6th place looking like finishing even lower than last season

First of all, I don't think I've said we are safe from relegation. As for the second part, wut? Looks like the straw man is getting an airing as I haven't seen 'minimum Top 10' anywhere.

But when "Rafa" pledged his future to "the Toon" after relegating them, the maggots were all over this board telling us that a record points hail in the Championship was a guarantee, not to mention an FA Cup win followed by the inevitable Top 6 finish...............or is it all Ashley's fault that the vision hasn't come true?

Absolute shite. Every single nufc supporter I know would have settled for 17th at the start of the season especially after Benitez was given £5M to sign a striker

Absolutely lifting patter. You were better on your @EricGates account or whatever the fuck that was this morning.

First task was to keep them up: Failed
Second task was to get promotion: Succeeded
Third task was to keep them up: Succeeded

Doing pretty well tbf, but had a canny wedge to spend along the way.
