After the MCC beat Essex in the season curtain raiser - the domestic season gets underway for the counties with First Class matches against the University sides.

Therefore, it's time for the yearly debate on the value (or lack thereof) of these fixtures.

So fire away lads ;)

Sunday 1 April:

Cambridge MCCU v Nottinghamshire
Gloucestershire v Cardiff MCCU
Kent v Oxford MCCU
Sussex v Loughborough MCCU
Warwickshire v Durham MCCU
Worcestershire v Leeds-Bradford MCCU
 

Well I got a nice sun tan last season on the 2nd day so that was on the plus side of things and when the Uni were 2-5 at one stage and ended up losing by 459 runs I got a brief insight what it must be like being a Convict supporter when they play us over there.:(

Is out game v the University on next week? Its my last contractor break week and I'm back working in Carlisle the week after next so want to try and take this one in if I can.
 
Jimmy Adams is 182 not out overnight for Hampshite against some University, what are people's thoughts on what he should do next?

Think a double hundred against a Uni would be a bit hollow for one, but I think it's poor form that he didn't retire about fifty runs ago - it's only a friendly and other lads will need some time in the middle really.

Well their team is full of foreigners so who really cares. Next man in is a young English keeper though so would want him getting more time.
