In the stadium. I attended them all, unfortunately...I've never mentioned six in a row, but where were you when they were happening ?

Why didn't you sign up to this forum then ?In the stadium. I attended them all, unfortunately...
Good post. Probably the most sensible and reasoned approach I have read about your current predicament. It's not ideal for us at the moment but the Premier League isn't the be all and end all of football. It's been a closed shop more or less since it's inception. Apart from Leicester it has been dominated by a handful of clubs. Good luck with breaking the cartelWe'll go down and hopefully regroup and come back stronger. At least we might win a few games in the 3rd tier. I'll follow my team through thin and thinner, fuck the Premier League ...

Been called a few things, but 'Johnny Come Lately Tosspot' is a good new one. If I get banned, look out for a new member with that name, it will be me.Why didn't you sign up to this forum then ?
You know where I am coming from and I have no desire to spend a Saturday morning conversing with a johnny come lately tosspot so I'm out.
By your logic nobody will remember your one recent foray into Europe either. I think you're being a tad harsh on the effect the Premier league has throughout the World not just Europe. It's watched in huge numbers and of course the teams who win things tend to be remembered which leaves both our teams also rans in the minds of the footballing world at large.Yes true.
They will have also seen us beat you 5 in a row, and I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have cared about that either. How many times in a row have Galatasaray beaten Fenerbache recently? Or Lazio beaten Roma? Or CSKA beaten Dynamo? Do you really think anyone outside of the north east cares about that? Or how you qualified for your one and only European jaunt in the 70s? Anyone under 45 won’t even remember it. And I’d be surprised if many Europeans older that that even remember it.
Will they remember your two top 7 premier league finishes? Maybe. They will remember some of your big results, if they are English football fans, definitely. They’ll remember your great escapes without doubt.
They will also remember us finishing multiple times in the top 6, playing multiple European campaigns including against big teams like Barcelona, Inter Milan, Juventus, Roma, Benfica etc etc.
Is your argument, and it seems to me that it was, that because you qualified for Europe on your single occasion by winning a trophy, and that you beat your local rivals 6 times in a row, that you will be more recognised in Europe? Is it?
Dry your eyes mate. Just chatting about Europe.

Much prefer it here marra thanksI’m not your mate.
You’re just a snidey bellend who pretends to be here for civilised discussion or in peace but when it comes down to it, your true colours come out.
Now piss off onto your own forum.

You obviously take life far too seriously. Stick the premier league up your hoop ... For the foreseeable future anyway. We've survived worse crises in our 138/9 year history; chill the fuck out marraThis is just daft. Every club aspires to play at the highest level they can. As do the fans. There have now been 26 seasons of Premier football. We finished 7th twice and we played in 16 of them. In the 26 years before the Premier we played 11 seasons in the top flight and finished a high of 13th. So its not the Premier that has fucked us.

I think you're missing the point ... Nobody in Europe cares about either us or your lot nor will many remember your exploits 40 years ago in a meaningless competition. However the Premiere league is fresh in the minds of football fans world wide unlike your futile exploits 20 years agoFirstly, I was talking about a little bit longer than the last few years, but ok. Secondly, I was not being harsh on the impact of the premier league at all. The argument wasn't that we are a european powerhouse. It was that we are more widely known across europe than safc, and that is because of a) our much greater presence/record in european trophies (I mean recently, not the fairs cup before anyone accuses me of that) b) our multiple top 6 premier league finishes, compared to your two seventh placed peaks
Much prefer it here marra thanks
What's the worst that can happen, administration? At least we'd be rid of all the parasites that have leached off this great club for years. Then we start again ... SAFC will never die ... Keep the faith marra ...When you say survived worst crises you are speaking from a position of unprecedented authority based on what? We have never been bottom of the second division losing 25,000 fans each week & requiring debt of £60 million to be cleared by a new owner. Thats before the quality & commitment or their lack of by the team itself is mentioned.

Most relevant thing in my lifeSuppose SAFC still has relevance to elicits mag supporters post on here, clandestine and their actual personas
One top 6 finish in the last decade ... Clutching at straws ...I specifically pointed out I was not referring to the fairs cup. I also mentioned the importance of the premier league, of which we have had several top 6 finishes within the last twenty years actually.
Most relevant thing in my life
Several clubs have used administration as a get out of jail card. I don't think we will and I hope we don't. However what is imperative is that we have a change of ownership and more sustainable business model.Learned experts on here have already pointed out administration isnt likely. Others have pointed out administration fucks up local businesses.

Worked for the ronny gill back in the day therefore he will have been turned to the darkside as was Alan Oliver who used to support Sunderland. Parry is a professional halfwit who supports Everton iirc. He makes a living out of making controversial comments. I'd take whatever he says with a very large pinch of salt.Mike Parry on Talk Sport last night said Sunderland are finished as a football club and would never get back to the top flight again.
Bit harsh I thought, said some very disparaging things about your club, according to him it's the worst it has ever been for you and you won't recover from it.
Obviously I know he is a Muppet and not saying it's true, I'm surprised there is not a thread on the forum about it though as he was pretty insulting.
