Yes of course I would take it but that's not what I meant, I would take that because that gets us there.
what I mean is I would love to be in next years FA cup final but if I could choose the opposition the very last team I would choose would be Sunderland.

I agree with that like, but reversed obviously.

Youd much rather play sunderland / Newcastle than a Man City / Chelsea.

There's more to lose playing us. It's not too bad to watch Man City run around with a trophy among celebrations but you'd hate to see us doing it when you've just lost a cup final.

I would probably take it if the match was today as you are awful at the moment but that will not always be the case. In general terms if you are talking us in a average year and you in a average year I would take Man city or Cheslea over you every time.
Obviously we would have a far greater chance against you than Man City or Chelsea but like I say there would be just to much on the game game for me.
I can go to a FA Cup final, lose and still have a great day all be it laced with disappointment. Losing to you though in a FA Cup final would just devastate me, it would haunt me for a long time. I know that's daft and it's just a game but honest to god it would take me some time to get over losing to you in a FA Cup final.

Of course there is, but you've got to confident, whats the point otherwise ? He who dares etc. Surely the whole point in supporting a team is hoping that one day you'll see them win things and we'd have a lot better chance than against each other. The high would outweigh the low anyway, I've already witnessed a play off defeat, I would gladly sacrifice going through that again for a chance to being the victor.[/QUOTE]

I'm a mag mate, just a very good posting one !!

I thought this was gonna be the old 80s question:
Q. “If Sunderland drew Newcastle in the FA Cup semi final where would it be be played?
A. ?

Nah the majority of people on both sides would behave themselves.

There would still be plenty of 'Mags are planning to storm our designated pubs' threads on here mind.... Similar to the Mags are coming to the Wolves game threads and prior to that the Mags in our end for the derby threads or the Mags coming through early to drink in Roker threads (although we might not see the derby related ones for a little while i reckon).

I wouldn't fight with anyone, it's just a game of football, yes I would like NUFC to win and would be devastated if we lost, but I wouldn't want to fight with a SAFC fan.....anyone who does this or has done this are utter pricks......

Cant see many disagreeing with this Leonard. Fighting with SAFC fans is shit crack, and anyone who has done so is, as you say, an utter prick.

Fuck me lad you're a bit of a pessimist.
I would certainly expect you to be playing us again in the next 6-10 years so unless you're expecting to die before you hit 45 then I think you will see us playing against each other again.

My thinking is we might get promoted back to the PL but we’re both in a position we’re we could be swapping divisions for years. There’s a chance we could leap frog eachother

its a no brainer.. be hell on, all weekend, especially if we hadn't played each other for few year

This basically. The segregation around Wembley would have to be extreme with such massive numbers of each. The police up here would have to lead the operation aswell as the met police would massively underestimate the game and the hatred that goes with it. Can you imagine the trains and service stations up and down the country man
