OK thanks. I leave work in June. Tricky period for me, going to attempt to do all 3 if I can.

Kandy is absolutely stunning. And the scenery on the way to/from there from Colombo by car or train is breathtaking. Didn't think much of Colombo although there are some nice areas.

Food, digs & transport are very cheap. Beer can be cheap too but we paid on average about £2.50 for a 500ml bottle of Lion beer in the bars we used in 2012.

Were you there for the tests in 2012 like?

For @The Rat Unawatuna is the place to stay for Galle. Loads of bars and shacks on the beaches (some literally) and a cheap tuk tuk to the ground each day.

Me and a mate currently looking at Colombo, but to do that we'd defo stay up the coast in Negumbo as Colombo is an absolute shithole.

Gonna try and do 8-18 November, try and take in a bit of the Galle (if it's not ower inside 2 days) & Kandy tests. £446 return from LHR for me.

Took a gamble at graft last year and booked the Oct 22-Nov 4 when there's absolutely fuck all on except a ODI and a T20.

No mate. I was there for the T20 WC.

Gis a shout if you're up for it and I'll speak to the other lads.

I can do a week there and a week in WI.

That looks class, right I will try make this happen, see how it progresses with work. Cheers.

I was thinking about going to this however, isn't November arguably one of the worst months to visit Sri Lanka? Supposedly the rainy/monsoon season?

Most of the comments on tripadvisor and lonelyplanet say its not a great time to go and to expect a lot of cloudy days, particularly on the west coast.

Michael Vaughan notoriously hit out at the scheduling back in a 2003 test series, which was played in November, England lost 1-0, the first two tests were drawn/washed out, Sri Lanka won final test.

Vaughan said: "The two boards and the international schedule brought us out to Sri Lanka in monsoon season.

"Maybe you shouldn't be sent to places where it is due to rain at certain times of the day.

On a rare dry day, they were thrashed by Sri Lanka on Tuesday in Dambulla.

Vaughan added: "You are always going to struggle with the amount of rain we have had here.

"Sri Lanka is a great tour, it is just disappointing the weather is spoiling it. The locals keep telling me it will improve and I hope it does so pretty quickly."

I want to go, but I don't want to be paying £1000's to experience washouts, or are my fears overblown and we should still see a lot of cricket??
