Keane is good enough but feel for him this season stuck alongside Kenny/Martina with the former being inexperienced and the latter being gash, and a constant swap of Williams and Jags alongside him week after week who are both finished.

I think providing we bring in a good manager in the summer and sign a quality CB to partner him and stick to a regular defensive partnership he'll really come into his own next season.

Not a massive fan of lascelles tbh, think hes over hyped more because he's english and snarls and barks at his team mates so the media get a semi on over "leadership qualities".

Who exactly is hyping him? Agree on Keane and id also throw Pickford in. They have been let down by your other defensive frailties.

Will that doesnt deserve it - Cahill, Jones, Hart and Livermore

That deserve it and wont - Pope, Mee, Tarkowski or Lascelles. (im aware of the oncoming storm that last name will cause)

The media seem to rate him quite highly seen him linked with us and Liverpool aswell. You lads obviously see more of him than me to judge but from what I've seen he seems to bark orders about at his team mates and the commentators always mention the effects his leadership has on the defence.

Personally think we have little to no top quality defenders in general.

nah, if it was a qualifier i still wouldn't fancy it, unless it was a 'crucial' game. Italy are no great shakes these days either so probably be a shit match

going to Spennymoor away Gainsborough Trinity on good friday and genuinely looking forward to that more

We are undeniably a better more solid defensive unit when he is in our team. The stats back it up. Considering he has played and organised at times Clark, Manquillo and Dummett you can see why he is getting praise haha.

Henderson plays some great forward passes like but he's restricted by his role at Liverpool.

Everton spent 30m on Pickford and 30m on Keane and have conceded 9 goals more than us a newly promoted team. Arsenal have conceded more than us to.

The England team has no leaders and whether you like it or not the above shows that something is working in our defence.

You want your leader to be able to match the other players abilities in the team. I wouldnt select joe hart but hes no more a leader than joe hart, would you put joe hart in goal because hes a leader?
