Never ever heard of that beforeThere was a time that if someone called you a ‘canute’ that it would probably end up in a fight.
Nowadays even women are using it as a more mild insult.
Times change, the vernacular changes, insults change and we find new ones to provoke others.
Unreal mate the fact people have to think what’s ok and not ok to say, says it allPeople in the north east, 50 years since people started the whole "let's try not to be racist" project, still struggling with what you can say to black people![]()
It was one of the worst insults at the time, not even commonly used over 10 years ago.Never ever heard of that before

Good to know I will keep that in the back locker to bring out on our lassIt was one of the worst insults at the time, not even commonly used over 10 years ago.
I’m not talking about crime rates mate I’m on about how the people actually speakLiterally the least offensive type of racism going man. Other parts of the country have places where people of opposing ethnicity can't even go. The north east is spot on.

From Viz Letterbocks
"How come rap artist Dr. Dre can use the 'N' word on his multi-million selling albums and win a MOBO award, yet when I used it at my son's football match I was asked to leave the park? Once again, it's one law for the rich and another for the poor."
It makes me happy that you have a favourite type of racism
The problem is that the terminology can change.Unreal mate the fact people have to think what’s ok and not ok to say, says it all
In fairness that spenk reality bloke was chucking acid about at anybody too, equal opportunities in that there liberal London innitMeanwhile in London Muslims are being attacked with acid just last year.
I don’t know like we are having a conversation with grown men about how to address a black person.Meanwhile in London Muslims are being attacked with acid just last year.
Not favourite, but it's not exactly Mississipi 1950.
I just call him Trevor, runs the local shop, listens to some shite music mind, he had ed sheran blasting the other dayI don’t know like we are having a conversation with grown men about how to address a black person.
Yeah that’s exatly what I’m saying it’s an area where your nana used to call it the p@ki shop without actually knowing that was offensive, and obviously things like that get passed onto grand kids etc etc it’s getting better but still will take time for it to die out.The problem is that the terminology can change.
We would describe a kid as half caste in the 70s. Then it was recommended to use mixed race, now it’s dual heritage.
Explain that to an 80 year old from a pit village who first saw a non white person when they had a football trial at West Brom in 1955.
Aye exactlyI just call him Trevor, runs the local shop, listens to some shite music mind, he had ed sheran blasting the other day
