Hull City vs Barnsley tonight.

You're wrong.

Option A) Had Barnsley won it would have been:

Barnsley 34 -13
Hull 32 -7
----------------------------------
Sunderland 27 -24

Option B) With the draw it's:

Hull 33 - 6
Barnsley 32 -14
-----------------------------------
Sunderland 27 -24

There's no way at all that option A is favourable to option B. For a start we are 5 behind with a goal difference of 10 to make up, unlikely but a couple of wins and defeats (which we need) then that may be just about recoverable. -17 had Barnsley won, wouldn't have. Barnsley would have also had an extra point to what Hull have now. Plus Hull are better than Barnsley and I'd rather be 5 behind Barnsley than Hull personally.

I'd rather Hull had won, but a draw is a lot better than Barnsley winning.

6 points feels huge. First time it's got that level. People mention a future run of more favourable games,we need to get something in the next 3 or we could be all but down. It's not just that we're 2 wins adrift, we're only that if the teams around us lose both of those games. The reality is we're staring down the barrel and would I suggest need 20 more points to have a sniff of stopping up. In 12 games that will take some doing!
