If you’ve been a city fan for that long then why do you think summerbee played for sunderland at the first league game at the stadium of light?

He was in fact on your clubs books then and wasn’t transferred to us for a good few months after that first game.

And I was there at Wembley when your support was incredible.

You will come back! Keep the faith. And trust me it is not all about winning. Some of my best times following city were when we were in the old div 3.

You will smash it next season and start the road back. Enjoy it!

Is that "sign" still up round one of you bars on concourse about fans first games watching city about Sunderland? Some young un remembering his first game and he couldnt take his eyes of the 10k+ Sunlun fans singing "always look on the ..." etc as we went down. He remarked on the noise we made anarl

Yes that’s still up. I remember Garry Bennett playing in that game.
