Open Letter To Ellis Short/Petition

They're telling him to sell the club.
It is for sale. It is no secret.

It's cringeworthy.
I have a car for sale.
I wanted it when I bought it but it has become too expensive to run.
I have no interest in it anymore and its value is only a drop in the ocean compared to my personal wealth.
I put it up for sale at a price I thought fair but no one was interested.
I still want to sell it.
What do you think I should do?

I have stopped going. And will not renew. That is the only realistic thing we can do.
Short wants to sell, it appears he's dropped the price.
A petition will not bother a man 6000 miles away.
News will get back to him though and surely petition with thousands of Sunderland fans name on, is better than nothing, or fans just not bothering signing it.

The bloke is going to take a massive financial hit for his efforts thats for sure. You dont go to matches right? Interesting. We need him to sell up quickly at a good price.
He's going to take a massive financial hit because he bought the club without having a business plan and threw good money after bad trying to correct his own spectacular failings.

Now the shit has hit the fan he's left us to rot and doesn't want to know and will leave us up to the eyeballs in debt and in a miles worse position than when he found us.

What is there to thank him for?

Drop the price as Short has reportedly done.

Well no, apart from well over a thousand.
Im probably on the same mate. Not having a go as you usually talk a bit of sense but if we want Short to do the right thing and go quickly he is going to take a big financial hit...demanding this and that and looking like a bunch of ungrateful so and so's will not help the situation or make us appealing to any future would be buyers.

I dint disagree with some of what you are saying. Bottom line is he did invest. Sadly for us he entrusted his cash with the wrong people. If I had bankrolled Rodwell et al perhaps you can see why he is not investing anymore...he is not in the arab and russian league money wise.

Future buyers won't give a fuck about a few fans organising a petition. The sort that would put off we don't want here anyway.

Already signed it. It's clear Short wants nothing to do with us and is happy enough to sit back. People need to worry more about the club than looking like a mag, if getting called a mag stops Short destroying the club so be it, I couldn't care less to be honest.

Exactly. Its just about all the average fan can do.
He's starting to get a bit of stick in the press so worth keeping the pressure on.

That was another thing I was going to say. A petition with say 30k signatures about, will filter through and get coverage as well. By the time people have posted on here or Twitter, complaining bout the petiton but still wanting Short to sell, could have just signed the f***ing thing.

This. He's meant to be a successful businessman but he's bought a football club, made absolutely ridiculous decisions and has nearly ran it into the ground as a result. "Thanks for trying?" Fuck me, don't mean to sound harsh but isn't that what you say to the special kid who comes last in the hundred meters?

Why do people keep trotting that out .... the only people I see talking about 'looking like Mags' are those who are wanting to protest.

I just don't get it tbh.

Petitions are a bit limp like.

Think the last one I signed was calling on the local council to put more dog shit bins down dog shit alley.

Am assuming no one has the bollocks for a bit of actual protest or action.

He invested money so for that he should be thanked IMHO. Sadly for us the people he appointed wasted that money so fully understand why people are upset and frustrated. However, there wernt many complaining on here when Short appointed MON, Moyes BSA etc.

All Im saying if we are going to protest is do it with a little bit of dignity. Demanding this and that never works.

You might be right. I'm in a Bolton fans only pub getting pissed so I'm not necessarily thinking my posts through

Bit Magish this

First post. Fucks sake.

Whether or not you were being serious is irrelevant. It doesn't help at all, in any way, shape or form so why bother?? No-ones asking everyone to agree and sign the petition but if you have no intention of signing the petition then leave comments like this out. Just don't comment. It's not difficult.

top marks to the OP. I've asked for the RAWA to do something - make a statement, lead a protest, convey the opinion of lots of people. This is a good start!
