Why are forums less popular amongst the 20 somethings of today?

Average age on here is late 30's/early 40's

We're all growing old and dying together

Well there's a cheery thought.

I used to be a member of the EMPIRE film magazine forum, but that's been closed as they use the facebook group instead now.
Shame really as it had loads of subforums like this and had all kinds of things for people to chat about besides films.

By what? Elderly men moaning about Rodwell?

The "fixed email" thing stopped me from signing up for years. I'm betting most kids don't have access to a fixed email address.

If I were leave where I am now, I suspect I'd have to ask for special dispensation to use a different e-mail!

This place has been around a long time.

Reddit and other social media sites will be more likely to attract young'uns.

Sites like this tend to die on their arses after a while, it's surprising this one has bucked the trend and has such an active user base.

Get it bucked.

I've met loads of match going SAFC fans aged 18-30 at work and the vast majority of them even have not heard of this place.

I would have said "facebook", as I know a couple of forums where the facebook page has basically taken over.

Facebook is mile better for a quick answer, but its terrible for a proper conversation, and you can't search or go back in history very easily at all.

But then, we're being told that kids don't use facebook now..........

Is there another thing? pinterest, reddit, maybe its insta, cos if no, I've f***ing no idea what the point of that thing is!

Reddit and 4chan are the 2 major ones for younguns, most people have never heard of 4chan.
