Rafa was promised all of the money, ("every penny") I believe were Ashley's words) he generated through player sales when we went down. Rafa spent 50 million of the money generated leaving 30 million to play with in the January transfer window. Come the January transfer window Rafa was denied that money. While I think there was no need to promise rafa all the money and allowing him to have 50 million of the 80 he generated is massively backing him it's still going back on his word. If I promised to give you £80 then only gave you £50 you wouldn't be happy. Like I say though I think Rafa was backed massively in the summer window when we went down and Rafa was very happy with that backing.

In the run up to the January transfer window in the championship season Rafa was told he would have that 30 million to spend but Ashely went back on that promise.
Rafa was promised he would be backed massively in the summer transfer window, told he could every penny generated through that promotion, Ashely saying he understood the team needed a lot of investment if we were to stay in the premier league. Ashley went back on that promise only allowing Rafa the money he generated through player sales with none of the money promised from promotion being given.

In the run up to this January window Rafa was promised significant investment regardless of what happened with the take over, again that investment did not come through as promised and we had to resort to loan deals.

The simple fact is Ashley keeps promising to invest money but he does not deliver, under Rafa he has neither invested his own money nor the money the club generates in the on field playing squad.
"Rafa"ten times, you love sick puppy.

We've beaten man city a number of times, means fuck all in the grand scheme of things.
Going for europe now?

Havnt read full thread so unsure or not if people are talking about the grand scheme of things.
Exactly the same as your Man City victories, yesterday was a great win. Agree ?

It was a hard fought win against a Man U team that seemed out of sorts for some reason. Agree?

Still only two points above the drop zone. Lot more still to do.

A very hard fought, and deserved win against better opposition. Undoubtedly.

I only wish they had the centre back pairing of Jones / Smalling back in 95/96.

The fact you are all furious a so called self confessed world class manager isn’t being given unlimited funds and has to just actually, like, coach.

Nobody expects unlimited funds. Every penny the club generates was the quote from the owner. Certain areas of the squad are still weak. Strikers cost a bomb. Releasing the funds to get a striker in for example might have helped out in the relegation fight. In the end we signed Slimani on loan. He might turn out to be good, but if the money is made available you can act sooner.

So rather than just manage like most his peers we’ll just have a go at Ashley for not providing endless funds after funds because for a world class manager like Rafa £80m+ just wasn’t enough. I get it.

You all must really feel really sorry for any club that has spent less than that. I bet you cry yourselves to sleep at night over what’s grayson and Coleman had to spend.

If only every single owner could deliver on an every single penny promise eh :(

Usually I would be happy to have a discussion about it but something tells me you will just keep typing "net spend" like a 6yr old child and try to make an absurd argument that there is no difference between net spend and gross spend, so I don't think i'll bother.

Also Ashley hasn't provided Rafa with 80+ million, that would be external investment by Ashley you are talking about and Ashley hasn't invested a dime since Rafa took charge

Delusion beyond belief.

If he keeps them up he's done a fine job. If he doesn't ultimately he's failed. At the moment they've lost 2 of their last nine, both against Man City. I think they'll survive but it could br anywhere from 10th to 17th.

Yes quite astonishing that when talking about someone I keep mentioning their name. Obviously how much you dislike or someone must directly be in proportion to how many times you use their name. I mentioned Ashley by name 5 times, does this mean I like him half as much as Rafa?

Actually come to think of it in this post so far I have mentioned Rafa and Ashley the same amount, do I like them equally now?

If i'm talking about Ashley I'll probably mention his name quite a lot, come to think of it I have used Ashely's name more now so does this mean I like him more?

Do me a favour if you want to quote my post and get me attention try and at least have something semi intelligent to say.

The clip of this one.

You never deserved to win at all, Man Utd had more shots, shots on target and missed 3 guilt edged chances. A draw would have been a lot fairer result overall.

As Sunderland hurtle towards oblivion, some on here try to take an odd satisfaction at predictions of a Newcastle defeat. Yesterday will have been a kick in the fanny for a fair few on here. We may well be below standard for the premiership, but at least there is effort. This championship campaign from Sunderland is now beyond ridiculous. A filthy excuse of a club are Sunderland at present.
You use a great performance by your team as a platform to attack Sunderland. I suggest you are not as big a supporter of your club as you like to appear. A real supporter would be content in revelling in their victory, not preoccupied with posting this crap.

lack of understanding about business from you beyond belief I would say.
Is it your argument that Mike Ashley has invested 80+ million in the on field playing staff since Rafa came into the club I take it?

I said have something intelligent to say if you quote me, I'm sorry an emoji doesn't qualify.
I can’t take you seriously. You are so far up Rafas arse you think he didn’t spend £80m+.

The money will have been used up one way or another. The idea that your manager is being starved of funds by your supposedly wicked owner is nothing but a fairy tale.
