The players were asked on Monday to give their views on the new manager choice

Or it might have been tuesday
The recruitment process includes an interview with the players' representatives who haven't been elected yet as a lot of the players are on a break. (Apparently it's a close run thing between JoS and Catts.) Consultation takes time.

Thought I'd ask the lad who said
"Announced today" and confirmed "Its true your mate is spot on"

You wouldn't be winding people up telling porkies would you
No I'm straight as a dye, the lad had a text from his mate who works at the club, ask him not me.
I did have a message from my mate in mag infested Coxhoe and he told me will be confirmed today, no reason to lie to me.

No offence mate, but during all the takeover talk shite weren't you the lad that was hanging around every post from MadBerb like one of those gibbons that picks the fleas off the fat fuck gorillas?

So after all that, several journos confirm that we've not even spoken to him

Which goes to prove two things:

1. Those on here proclaiming an imminent announcement (several in this thread) are know-nothing shitehawks.

2. Karanka is a bit of an attention-seeking WUM himself, given his Twitter shenanigans last night.

I think he remains the best available to us, but there's something a little unbecoming about a manager acting the lark on Twitter

Looking good
You won't have been looking in the mirror then..

On and Sunderland. Firstly, no contact being made yet, all speculation right now. He’ll only work next in project that excites him

Fans closest to Sunderland will be able to answer the question. Is Sunderland the right club for a coach who prioritises long term plans?

He listens to everyone but has said ‘no’ to some proposals. Last one, Birmingham City. He wants to join the right club next

As I say, no contact with Sunderland at this point. But I wonder if that is the right club for him

Makes no sense to become our manager under the current ownership

has balague ever got a story right or does he still just make this stuff up?

If it’s true that we haven’t simply been in contact with him, that is a bit bizarre. A well respected manager who wants to remain in the area who is currently without a club. He may also know some of our coaches and staff who have links with Teesside, e.g. Stockdale.

If Bain hasn’t at least checked in with him, what is he doing?

Bain hasn't got a fucken clue on the football front. He's way out of his depth.
