It will hopefully make Short less likely to lie to him in the first place.

If he continues to lie to managers I'd rather know about it and maybe, just maybe, we'd see some actual vocal opposition to him staying as opposed to people fawning over him for a few platitudes and excuses.
I'm not sure about that! Good, fair points though.

He's proven himself to be a good manager in the division we're in. Only a complete heed case would be against this appointment in our current predicament

Bit of a sweeping statement that mind.

Whilst I can see what others think he would bring in terms of defensive stability I think our current options at CB and CM require surgery rather than coaching. O’Shea is on his last legs as is Gibson. Cattermole may fare better in a midfield 3 it’s by no means certain. Wilson looks disinterested despite him protesting otherwise and Williams seems likely to miss as many games as he plays.

I don’t know what prompted him storming out of Boro when they were on the brink of promotion, I’m not aware of there being too many bad apples there at the time but I don’t really know any Boro fans. I doubt it would have been a ruck with Gibson who seems to be as good a chairman as most managers could wish for.

On that basis and what he would be coming into here there are to my mind legitimate questions about his suitability.

It was a ruck with Gibson.

Not really. It was aimed at hank:lol:

On paper appointing him makes sense for you. He did do an excellent job with us. You are in a worst state than we were mind. He doesn't do player power, which in the long run is exactly what you need but in the short term could destroy your season and send you down.

I would be quite surprised if he took it. In his own mind, when he left us i think he felt he had served his apprenticeship and was ready to manage at the highest level. He has also been spoiled working with Steve Gibson at a very stable club. You lot aren't and he will do his research.

The fact there's been a load of jobs come up since then and he hasn't been in the running for any of them suggests he might have been mistaken. We are, if nothing else, a club with huge potential for whoever gets it right and he won't want to stay out of the game too long so early in his career.

I agree about the player power thing,we don't want some of these players here but in the short term they are all we've got and someone needs to come in and get everyone on side quickly.
That said he does look a good option compared to most of the other managers being mooted

Didn’t he spend a shit load at Boro and went in the huff more than once when they tried to reel him in? If he’s the man, it won’t end well.
