we haven't even shortlisted yet (1 whole week after Grayson was sacked) so I think it's safe to say Toosb was wide of the mark on this one.

Those two need someone to fall out with them. If any lessons have been learnt from past events (big if) Bain might realise he must back the manager over the players in the event of disagreements. If the manager is going to be undermined by his CEO the club might as well not bother appointing a manager at all

I work in Boro mate and they're all taking the piss out of me in case we get him. To a man, the lads I work with wanted rid of him well before Christmas cos they could see his football was taking them down. Can't stand the defensive, cowardly Latino shite served up by the likes of Karanka, Poyet, Benitez (aye, the skunks will see through that fucker soon enough). The smogs I know reckon Karanka liked a 1-0 defeat as much as a 1-0 win. A typical complaint I'd hear is, they'd go behind after 10 mins and still be defending the edge of their box on 80 mins and he still wouldn't gamble on bringing a forward on. We've seen it all before under Poyet and this fucker strikes me as being even more negative.

nah. I don't really think we're in a position to be headhunting a replacement before we've booted the current manager out the door. It was just a routine sacking. Board wanted better so they sacked Grayson and began searching for his replacement.

He was good at organising a defence. The figures show that. We can't defend for toffee. We can score goals at this level. He could be a good fit, even if it's just to keep us up this season. I don't think anyone is daft enough to think we're not hip deep in shit, so getting the defence sorted - and pdq - is essential.

The rumblings started with the smogs I know when they were in the championship and he wouldn't give Rhodes a look in. Even when they were crying out for something up front.

Always got me with Rhodes wether he doesn't show it in training or what but he seems to get peddled everywhere he gans yet great goalscoring record at this level

Aye, its a puzzle but some players are like that. Its a shame he wasted a chunk of his career with the smoggies.

Works hard I think but not athletic enough for some managers who trust more in those computer bras than their own eyes. Great finisher & always seems like a good lad when interviewed. Wish we had him!
