The only reason spending less is better than spending more is because that leaves more to be spent in the future, which is irrelevant if you have somebody that is prepared to invest. Ellis has managed to condition a section of our fanbase into thinking that buying players and spending money is a bad thing.

when you lads keep saying net spend is irrelevant let me try and explain it in a way you can understand.

You have £10 in your pocket and you go and play the one arm bandit, on your last spin you get a £3 win and you walk away. While you can say you had a £3 win when asked how you did on the bandit you would say you lost £7
If you believe the fact that you spent £10 to get your £3 win is irrelevant than i'm sorry but you are an absolute f***ing moron.

If you can not see that selling Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Townsend, Janmaat etc for 80+ million and then being allowed to invest 50 million of that sum back into the squad is very different from just being given 50 million to spend there is little hope for you.

maybe @Grumpy Old Man can explain it to you, you might actually listen to him being that he is a fellow Sunderland fan.

Yeah if we still lose Pickford, Khazri, Borini, Lens, Kirchoff and Mannone.

Alreet. Rafa then, 100%.

Di Matteo is a shining example of how vast amounts of money can be wasted and I wouldn't trust Grayson with that kind of money any more than I would Di Matteo.

You were allowed to reinvest £50m of what was made. Sunderland spent 1.25m of what was earned. Fuck me

Relegation after a lot spent and a blowjob debt to Brighton after £50m spent so I'll still mull over my answer until Grayson or any

What's after that...£500m + vs shite owners?

Wut? Are you criticising Benitez for spending money the season we got relegated?

Sorry my post never finished, I was saying in hindsight I would pick Rafa but my jury is out until I see what Grayson can do with £50m in the championship.

no thats not what was being asked, with say NOTHING/£50m to spend you'd still have Grayson over Benitez, thats what you said.
