Worst performing club with the best fan base.

I'm taking suggestions for the worst performing clubs with the best fan base. In the past I would have taken Man City, Watford and Brighton as nominations as being in a position below what the level of support from their fans deserves, although they are all now doing well. It is all relative, but I suppose I am thinking of teams like Norwich and Portsmouth, as well as the likes of us.

Sheffield Wednesday.

They've been stuck in the division for years & years yet still have decent support, especially away from home. They're awful this season, probably as they knew I stuck 20 quid on them to come up. My theory, was they'd make up for a below-par midfield and defence with the attacking trio of Hooper, Fletcher and that lad Foriestiri (SP?). On paper, you'd argue they have the best attacking trio in the division... I thought they were worth a punt - I was wrong.

Their support was crap when they were in the Prem in the 90s.

Until we have a long spell out of the top division it's Leeds imo. 13 years out andstill got the biggest away support.

Yeah you've got a point mate. Still, I think there a reasonably big club with decent attendances who are shocking on the pitch. You're right - Leeds sprang to my mind straight away but someone beat me to the punch, so Wednesday are my second choice.

Bradford are probably worth a mention. Been knocking about the bottom leagues for a while now.

it's us man ! 6 times champions of England !

all the clubs that have won it more than us are global brands ( except mebbes Villa)

Derby have a bigger average attendance than us. If their stadium was bigger they would get more, obviously.

Sunderland, Palace and Brighton are in league of their own over the years (since 1966). Special mentions to Bournemouth and Bradford City (Bradford PA are toilet now.).
